Olan's thoughts for this strip:
Today's update comes to us courtesy of Roel Stalpers (of Rules of Rule).
Roel contacted me out of the blue to ask if I would like to help with Loaded Dice. As it turns out, he had an entire mini arc planned... and the story is quite good.
Please enjoy Roel's story, and be sure to check out his comic!
This is part one of eight.

Script for this strip:Steve (narrator): She is the Guardian, a creature so ancient she was already old when the mythical Anathari Empire crumbled... with a single word, she can shape a man's destiny... it is said she has the power of a mad god.
But now, this force of nature stands and judges those who wish to pass into the realm, with eyes that glow like embers. Some say this is punishment for her sins, others say she takes pleasure from seeing adventurers squirm...
Hag: "It's not going to happen and you know why you can't go, so don't even try, youngling."
Faustus: "You are as wise as you are ANCIENT. I am a man whose destiny holds great things, I need to pass, lest evil take hold over the kingdom I have sworn to protect!
Let me pass and I shall fight the good fight! I shall SLAY my enemies in your name! You shall once again be WORSHIPPED and FEARED!"
Hag: "No."
Faustus: "Old crone, let me pass or your blood shall wet my sword!"
Hag: "Excuse me!? What did you just call me!?
Boy, I gave you one single thing to do, and I'm not going to allow you to leave until it's done!"
Faustus: "You are a creature of evil! Women and children will suffer a fate worse than death if I am not there to protect them! I am needed!
To HELL with your menial tasks! To HELL with you!"
