Olan's thoughts for this strip:
First of all, check out the new logo! I was never really in love with the old one... this one speaks to me much more than the old one did. Is that a sign that it's good, or a sign of possible mental illness on my part?
Now, as for this installment of Loaded Dice... I am stupidly exicted to post it. I know that you've read similar comments by me before, but I think that this may be my absolute favorite strip to date thus far. Lyra really nailed the varioius expressions throughout this strip - I especially love what she did with Steve and Ray.
Also, I will admit, I happen to think the punchline to this strip is hilarious - all the while realizing that it is, in fact, terribly corny, as well. Which makes it better in my warped little book.
Enjoy.

Script for this strip:Steve (narrator): "Faustus deflects the barbarian's club with his shield..."
Steve (narrator): "...and uses the opening to drive his blade deep into the man's chest."
Ray: "Eat it, jerk!"
Steve: "Doing so opens the knight's guard to the second brute, who lands a sickening blow with his axe. It is all Faustus can do to remain standing."
Tim: "Don't go down, dude! Jhim is dead if you do!"
Ray : "Really? I hadn't thought of that. I'll quit trying to die now."
Brad: "Guess Tim's gonna need a backup character, too."
Amy: "Hush!"
Steve: "Roll for initiative."
Ray: "Ugh a ten."
Steve: "Heh... a one." You're badly hurt, and being attacked from behind... with bonuses."
Steve: "Looks like this may be all she wrote."
Steve: "A one! Who cursed my dice?"
Ray: "An eighteen? Easily good enough for a hit, right? And would you look at that? Max damage."
Steve: "Khaaaaannnnn!!!"
