Kate has a distinctive feline quality about her, problably due to her sharp facial features and piercing, alert green eyes. She keeps her wavy red hair to her waist and often braids it and pins it up when working. She has fair skin and might be described as beautiful. Because of a childhood accident, she has a cresent shaped scar above her right eyebrow and another on her left shoulder. A bit on the shorter and thinner side, Kate is often assumed much younger than she is. |

Family and Background:

Kate was the youngest of three girls and was always the smart one. At an early age, she displayed interest in science. Her mother, Sheila Sr., served as a biology professor at a local college and interested Kate in her work. Entering high school, she knew she wanted to be an xenobioligist. With her families well wishes, Kate travelled a long ways to attend Harvard. Kate graduated college with a major in xenobiology and a minor in marine biology. After college, she attened Starfleet Academy and was assigned to the USS Discovery.
Kate is very sociable and easy to get along with, forming friendships with next to no effort. She is a bit of a feminist and a new-age 'hippie', often preaching animal rights (especial marine animals). Kate has never truly been in a serious relationship, and when she's not married to her work, she's often painting. |

Personal Bio:

Kate always chose to live a social life. She was the youngest of three girls and often alone or unchecked, resulting in an attack when she was young. Kate was 7 when she was beat by local neighborhood boys and stabbed twice with an unknown object: once above her right brow, once on her left shoulder. Kate told no one of the wounds and hid them until they were healed and had scarred. Her attackers were never prosecuted.
Ever since she could read and write, Kate was fascinated with science. Because of her interest in non-humans, she decided early on to try out xeno biology. Growing up, she also favored marine biology.
While in Starfleet Academy, she roomed with Carmen Vernades, whom she'd also attended college with. She also sruck up a semi-close friendship with Toni La Rue. |
