Engineering came as a surprise to David's family, he had been particularly active with the Cheyenne tribe council growing up, and they thought he would pursue that. He's always liked taking things apart and putting them back together. He scored high enough on the aptitude test to get into Starfleet, and while engineering wasn't his first thought (he was going to go into tactical), a professor saw his skill in machines and convinced him to take a couple engineering classes. |
