Physical Description:

Max is broad-shouldered, slim of waist, toned and athletic. He keeps a neat beard and mustache that comes in a darker gray, almost a black, and his hair (regulation cut but slicked back on his head) is prematurely silver. His features are hard, cut, and stern with the natural set of his face giving the impression that he is angry almost all of the time. |

Family and Background:

Born to a restauranteering parentage, Max was raised around food. Of a mixed ancestry (Italian, Irish, Native American), his family's restaurant (Summit Dining) was well known for mixing food genres and is a local favorite.
Max's father, Branch, and his mother, Shiela, run the restaurant together. His older brother, Angelo, is a Starfleet Marine bearing the rank of Major. Maximus has a younger sister named, Bella who is the restaurant's manager. She's married to a man named Greg Alstead, who is a history professor at the University of Seattle. They have a son (7 years old) named Baron and a daughter (4 years old) named Patrice. |

Education:

Max was an active young man and it manifested early in his education as he was very bored with the curriculum, always looking for a physical diversion. His early education was rife with trials for his parents and teachers, and school counselors would advise his parents to medicate the young man, but Branch would have none of it and instead insisted on taking Max into the mountains for camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting excursions to "shake the wiggles out." That's where Max's love of the outdoors was born.
By high school, Max had figured out how to supplement his regular education with advanced learning programs to keep him interested. He was also a star corner back on his school's football team earning scholarship offers from multiple colleges throughout the Federation. But his older brother, Angelo's, joining of the Marine Corps piqued the young man's interest and he enlisted in Starfleet as soon as he could.
Starfleet tests found him well suited for an officer role and after talking things through with his father and mother, Max decided to forego the glamor and excitement of a marine and pursue life aboard a starship in the officer training program.
Excelling in tactical simulations, Max earned high marks, and he proved capable of remembering tiny details that escaped others. Later, he was tested and it was determined that he had an eidetic memory, or very close to that.
While going through the Academy, Max kept himself physically active by enrolling in multiple martial arts classes. He is adept in Wing Chung Kung Fu, Aikido, Poc'taio (a Klingon martial arts form), and Gracie Jiu Jitsu.
Whenever he could, he'd hit the firing range as well and proved to be a very good shot with all types of weapons, recieving marksman status in multiple categories and master marksman with the hand phaser. |

2348.08.03 Captain's Commendation for Bravery on an Away Team Mission (Max risked his life to save that of two senior officers from an unregistered alien species).
2349.05.20 Received the Starfleet Good Conduct Medal.
2350.01.20 Received the Starfleet Expeditionary Medal when forced to engage with a hostile bipedal alien species that took the Away Team hostage. Max was part of the rescue Away Team.
2350.05.15 Received the Starfleet Unit Commendation medal when his Away Team was attacked by a rogue unit of Romulans that severely outnumbered them. His unit lost two of the five members but killed/repelled twenty of the enemy.
2350.05.28 Received the Starfleet E Ribbon for the engagement of the USS Sagittarius against the Rogue Romulan vessel Tenseehk. While the Sagittarius sustained considerable damage, the Tenseehk was completely destroyed.
