Flying. That's all he ever loved. Regardless of what they thought he should do, he never wanted to do anything else.
He didn't have enough telepathy to read a dog's mind, much less a person's. What he DID have was a great instinct for flight, and knowing innately what course would be best, what route to take, and if necessary, what actions to take to dodge.
He graduated Flight school, and after a couple of terms as a flight jock, and moving up the ranks, he found himself as a CPO, and piloting a shuttlecraft on a new research vessel.
Let these youngsters have their command, they all ended up taking the advice of the non-coms anyway. |
