Thomas has enjoyed a solid, if not spectacular, Starfleet career. His tour aboard the Arthur, a medical vessel, was largely without incident, though he performed his duties well.
Three months after reaching the rank of lieutenant (junior grade), he was transferred to Starbase 13 and given a more general operations role. Again, his duties were solid, though fairly unremarkable.
Not caring for life aboard a starbase, he requested a transfer back to a ship. After several months the request was approved, and he found himself aboard the Discovery.
Thomas is a social person, and enjoys relaxing with the other junior officers. He also plays a mean game of poker, and usually wins more than he loses.
