Family and Background:
|
Both his parents were terra-formers who helped settle the planet of Lydia X. Scouted and sourced by Federation geological researchers, the planet was determined to be lifeless. Unfortunately, once the atmospheric generators began the vibrations they produced awoke a life form deep within the planet that had been dormant. Call the Gokk, these insect-like creatures attacked the colony. The Gokk were non-intelligent and acting on instinct to defend their hives. Because the planet was such a valuable mother-load of deuterium and other minerals, Starfleet attempted to find a way to pacify the Gokk, while at the same time defend the terra-formers and the atmospheric generators. This lasted for 25 years, with different methods, but always the Gokk would revert back to their killing. After much death and destruction, the colony was abandoned and evacuated. Steward and his older brother Mark escaped, but their parents perished at the hands of the Gokk. Mark died of Radiation poisoning while serving on the USS Cartier. |

2356.10.29 – Reassigned to USS Rowling a refitted Constellation Class running penal colony prisoners.

2359.04.01 – Disobeys direct order from superior officer, demoted to Ensign
2361.05.22 – Brother Mark Dies
2361.05.30 – after five reprimands for drunk on duty, reassigned to starbase until re-evaluation
2363.06.19 – Assigned to USS Valmont
2363.09.28 – While under control of microscopic alien, attempt to beat Commander Avanti to death with a spanner. Afterwards Avanti does not press charges though it is dubious as to whether Tier was infected at the time.
2364.10.19 – Chief Engineer of Valmont killed in the line of duty. Avanti assumes Chief Engineer position. Tier marks his life as officially entering hell.
2366.01.01 – USS Valmont returns to drydock for complete refitting and overhaul. Tier celebrates his shore leave and the transfer of Commander Avanti to USS Discovery.
2366.03.12: Assigned to USS Discovery - chief engineer officer Avanti requested. Tier gets really drunk.
2366.07.20 – Fought off invaders using dimensional transporters trying to take ship.
2366.10.21 – Transfers to Valmont on Commander’s Avanti’s orders. Steward requests change from engineering to security.
2368.04.10 – transfers to security for Discovery, feels he has freed himself from Commander’s Avanti’s shadow forever.

Although an excellent engineer who is good with all things structural and related to energy fields, Steward is also a good hand to hand fighter, and a excellent shot with both phaser and phaser rifle. |

Personal Bio:
|
Tier is a competent engineer and knows his way around the engine room. When it comes to structural integrity or shields, he is an expert. He is a career Ensign because he won’t listen to advice, frequently speaks out of hand, and in foul language, to superior officers and will take wild unproven risks at the drop of a hat. Unless the situation becomes critical, then he becomes a reliable, hard working, confident risk taker who can come up with the ship saving idea or plan.
There is a lot of anger in Steward and it finds its ways of getting out. He personally hates Commander Avanti even though he is the only superior officer he has served with to ever put a commendation in his file.
Since transferring to security, Tier has fought an outlet for his anger and has excelled as a officer in the TAC section. He takes his training very seriously, spending most of his free time improving his martial arts and marksmanship.
