Oh man...
Kiddy kirk... Kiddy spock lol..
And Sylar from heroes is spock... how... ironic...
but it looks almost like they're trying to 'reinvent' the franchise to a younger generation..
No more Picard and over the hill actors as it were, a younger cast to keep the franchise going with a new crowd perhaps.
I'll definately be going to see it, and this trailer has spawned a new need for a ST marathon lol.

Definately
.. I will have to see it..l I have seen all of the Treks.. the good and the bads... guess we will see where this one fits into the mix. Definately trying to appeal to the younger crowd.. not a problem really!

nit picking
that better not be the Enterprise because it is not the same ship! It should have the parabolic deflector generator!
Okay....I'm a geek.

I must say
Not a huge Trek fan. I'm literally going to see it for Simon Pegg/Harold (of "and Kumar" fame).
It should be good though, just because of the budget, have to see.

Clearing a few things up here, Alacrity.
The Enterprise as J.J. Abrahms sees it Vurses This beast.
Note how what you thought you saw bears the registration number NCC-0514, as opposed to the Enterprise' 1701. Also, it says U.S.S. effing Kelvin right on the front there. So take that.

Well that is good then. And I love that picture of the constitution class Enterprise - Parabolic intact and everything.
Could be good.

Ohh
I had only seen the short teaser preview at the theaters until now. Those only had the ship docked at some space station getting worked on, then again the Enterprise was ALWAYS getting worked on, Kirk never could figure out that star ships were not meant for bumper cars...
Gonna have to see this one, even though it is likely it isn't going to be very good, at least it looks way better than the new Star Wars movie coming out!

RE: not going to be any good
Oi! Don't give up all hope just yet. If you ask me, Star Trek was a little over the hump there. At least it took them less time to realize that and try something different than, oh say, James Bond. But I'm not gonna go trolling away here. All I'm saying is that I'm being cautiously optimisitc and plan to judge it on its own merrits, and so should you, at least. I really wanna like this one.

with returner
I have to agree with Returner, you gotta give this a chance as it is a bold move. Besides, Simon Pegg as Scotty could steal the entire movie.
Also agree with you on Bond. Anyone see QofS yet>?

RE: Alacrity (again)
I have. Spoiler-free discussion on THAT movie here.
But all in all, I'm agreeing with you agreeing with me, Alacrity. At the very least, you have to applaud the effort.
