Looking for Publisher

Hey all you inners I am a starting author and I have written some books that my friends say could be best sellers if published and I'd like to see if there right but I don't know any publishing companies can anyone help me out. (I'll send peices of my work here tomorrow so everyone can see but please these books are copyrighted in my name so please don't try to publish them for me.)

I'd recommend that you'd only send a part of your literary works if you're afraid that someone might steal them from you.

I don't know anything about any publishers or publishing companies save for some here in Iceland, and I gather that won't do you any good.

I have written some short stories myself (nothing published though), so I'll be willing to give you some constructive criticism if you like.

Resource

Hit up the library Driztts. There are books out there that have publishers in them, kind of like the white pages, only for literary folk. Usually they are catagorized by the type of works they generally publish, as well as their contact information and what they require to be sent to them and how to send it and blah blah.
I've leafed through the books, drooling over the day I could finish one of my stories and submit it (which hasn't happened yet, good for you having something finished enough for submission!), but as I just noted I haven't ever submitted anything so I don't know how well it works to just send stuff, but might be a good place to start.

M.

PS. Good Luck!
