The Pawsteps to Salvation
Shard sat patiently as the elders of the forest explained the daily notings. But suddenly they paused unevenly. Shard looked up and studied their expressions. Twigbreaker, the leade elder, cleared his throat. "Forest Home has been our domain since our ancestors first set paw on it's sacred grounds. But now man and dog threaten us. As much as it pains us to say... Forest Home is to be evactuated immediadletley." He said. Shard jumped up with the hisses and growls from others. "This is our place! No man shall take it from my paws!" She yelled. Others nodded in agreement and Plumpbelly grumbled in laughter. "You will let this kitten, barely past weening, lead you to death?" He laughed.
Her supporters quieted and Shard looked around. She looked at her clan members, her friends, her family, cats she knew only by whisker name. "None will stand with me? Are you all that weak?" She called. None rose and many looked away. "Young kit, you may stay. The rest of us will leave." Plumpbelly announced. Shard looked back at him. "Others will follow me! Whoever wishes to will meet me at Star High tonight by Whisper River!"
And so now her she was. Erka Shard. A small kitten who had just finished weening, going against the forces of man and dog. She hissed in frustration and kicked a pebble into the river.
Peraps it was hopeless... No. Shard would save Forest Home, whether or not anyone else showed up tonight. Shard looked at the stars. They glowed brightly, as if mocking her bravery. Shard sighed and turned to teh brush, waiting for any who would come.

Are you sure?
The meeting held very little interest to Tear; she had seen many, and her wandering mind could easily supply the scenes of countless others. That is, until Twigbreaker broke the silence. His proclamation stirred up the others, and from the shadow she was sitting in, Tear saw the emotions rise and fall like a geyser, before settling uneasily with Plumpbelly's premature dismissal. Her golden eyes regarded Plumpbelly calmly, but she did not speak, instead licking her whiskers clean of the snack which she had been eating throughout the meeting.
"So, you would dismiss all hope before it could flourish and blossom." Tear murmurs softly to herself, her muzzle hardly moving with the speech, "And by your will, you would let this child be alone in her stand, simply dismissing the notion as absurd without thinking."
Tear averts her gaze, and closes her eyes, "This is one of the reasons why I am not a part of your clan, although this too is my home."
Turning her back to the others, Tear vanishes into the shadow.
* * *
With a small flick, the young one sends a pebble into the river, disturbing its surface. Tear's golden eyes regard her carefully, from the shadow nearby. As she looked up to the stars, Tear took that time to speak.
"I wouldn't look to the stars, or the moon, or the sun." Tear says gently, "They hold their own plight, independent of those in their light. It isn't that they don't care, but rather that they simply cannot."
Stepping forward into the light, Tear's black, slender body makes nearly no noise as she steps toward the young Shard.
"You are not as alone as you might think, young one." the adult panther adds softly, "But that is something to be said another time. For now, just know that, at the very least, I will not let you stand alone."

My teeth shall aid you... and my claws.
The forest was filled with chaos, and Fyettelo knew it. Leave forest home? Nonsense. Nobody in their right mind would actually want to leave. It's just that nobody wanted to take the alternate route either, which was to fight the humans and dogs.
From the lower branches of the trees, Fyet observed shard, his orange feathers ruffling in the wind. Such an energetic youth... she had the drive that everyone else was to afraid to be drawn to. Such energy... she seemed close to his age, though perhaps a little younger. The ambition of youth was never really alive in him. It was far too east to just lay back and do nothing. But this, evacuating forest home? This was madness. For this, he would side with the fellow young one.
Hopping out of the tree and spreading his wings, gliding a few feet, then reverting to his feline form when he was out of sight of the others, Fyet's orange fur became a blaze through the forest, as he ran, thinking. He would join this one. She had the promise.
When high star came, Fyet, the rather large cat that he is, casually walked towards the river, Noticing that another had answered her call, Fyet spoke as he slinked into view, "I too shall join you in your attempt to save our homeland. My three allegiances and I have been here our entire lives, and I don't wish to see it taken by others. So I shall fight, to save us as well."

The Last to Join
Eika listened to the cat. She was younger than herself. but still much less mature. She sighed and thought back to her sister. Mirae would have loved this cat. if only... No, she musn't think of that.
Eika waited for the clearing to empty and then stalked through the undergrowth. She was almost silent, but had leaves crunch under her soft paws. She had decided to join this small kitten.
"If you don'y mind, I'd love to accompany you." Eika purred. Three cats sit around her but she only stared at the smallest. Eika flashed her teeth, hoping the group would allow her to enter.

Confident in the Allies
Shard looked at the small group before her. She had thought no one would bother, but these cats stood before her. She looked each over, taking special care on the one male.
The large, but still small cat named Rain. The panther Tear. The bright orange Fyet. Each was unique and different from the others, yet one force had drawn them her. And that one force was her, tiny Shard.
Shard nodded and leaned forward. "Thank you for joining me. As the elders have pointed out, it will not be easy. But just you trust in me is good enough. We will hunt and sleep and set out tommorow." She said and looked at Fyet. "If you wouldn't mind hunting with me, I have some things to discuss." She said to him and padded off into the undergrowth.

I shall hunt with you.
"Hunting is always a good time to discuss happenings. I shall accompany you on this excursion, and I also seek the hunt." Fyet falls in step behind Shard, his eyes always looking back and forth in case of any signs of danger. Shard was easily to small to protect herself. She could walk under him and still have some headroom for Bast's sake! And yet in this little package came such determination. 'Twas remarkable.

Let's Get Something Straight
Once they were far away from the group, Shard turned to look at him.
"You are the only male here. I expect you to behave yourself. Understand what I'm trying to say?" Shard meowed, poision in her voice.
She sat and stared at him. It may not be wise to say such, considering he could crush her.

Little one...
Fyet let out a sigh. "Little child. I am the male amongst females, this I know. However, not all males are overcome with the desire to mate. I am here strictly on my own personal agenda and how it shares a common ground with your own. You three have nothing to worry about." Reaching out a paw, as large as the small cat's head. Fyet makes an attempt to pat Shard on the head. "I do not seek to harm you little one. I seek to help you."

Trust, for now.
Shard moved back. "Well then, let's hunt." She said and bounded off. In a small matter of time, she managed to spot a mouse. Shard leaned down, her belly brushing the ground.
She stalked forewards and leaped, landing on the poor creature. She broke it's neck and stood up. Shard looked around for Fyet.

Shadowy Strike
"To the hunt it is then." Tear murmurs softly, akin to the wind's whisper among the shadows.
She turns, and leaps into the foliage, however, there is no rustling of leaves as she disappears into its shadow. The darkness envelops her, before she appears on the other side, in her own little hideaway. It is almost a small garden, hidden from view, with glowing fungi on the trees just out of reach, and also a ring of flowers, surviving on their light, while surrounded by trees and ivy. Gently, Tear lies down in the centre of the ring. Now then, what do I feel like having? She considers, noting that she is not particularly hungry as she had eaten before.
Something smaller I guess. Tear thinks, I suppose I'll go for a fish.
With another bound, she enters the shadows again, this time to pop out from the foliage by the river, although a ways away from the meeting spot. She watches the water carefully, looking for a fair fish. Finally, one comes into view. Still, Tear waits, as it is in the middle of the stream. After a moment, it passes into the shadow of a thick tree branch. That is when Tear strikes. Still sitting in the shadow of the foliage, Tear lunges her head forward, where one would expect her to hit the ground. However, instead, her head vanishes into the darkness of the shadow, and when she pulls back, she drags the fish in her mouth back as well. It struggles weakly for a moment before it goes limp. Tear returns to her hideaway to enjoy her snack.

The hunt.
"Hmm... I'm somewhat hungry for more than a simple mouse... hey, that looks tasty." Fyet mutters to himself. Slinking off into the shadows, Fyet hides himself from his prey. Peeking around the corner so as to make sure that it doesn't see him, Fyet closes his eyes, feeling the change begin.
Fyet opened his eyes. Everything was so lower. Oh wait, he was just taller. Looking at his paw, which had now roughly tripled in size and contained deadly claws, Fyet decided that now was the time to take out the deer which he had been stalking. Jumping out from the bushes with a mighty roar, Fyet pounces on him, his new tiger form moving with a liquid fluidity. As he caught up to the deer, he swung with his paw and caught it directly across the face. Such power! The deer's neck spun around, it's neck snapped, and it fell to the ground.
No more pussy cat. In Fyet was now much larger, with stripes, and huge paws. Welcome the tiger within. Looking down at the deer, Fyet began to eat. The still warm flesh tasted delicious. And it was rather filling. Just what he was looking for.

Stupid Creatures
Eika padded away in a random direction. She caught some strange scent and followed it, leading her straight to a fox den. By the smell, the motehr had just left. She squeezed herself into the hole, a tight fit.
Eika made it a few feet when soft fur brushed her nose. A single pup. And too tiny to fend for itself. She smiled. The mother had been stupid to leave such a small baby. Eika squeezed a bit farther and caught it between her teeth.
Eika backed up and tured around, setting the pup down. She shook her fur and picked up the now whimpering pup and padded the way she had come.
She made it back and sat dow. With a simple swipe of her paw, the pup lay motionless. Eika shrugged and leaned down. She began to nibble away.
(I think she was the only one besides Emy's cat who didn't uae some creepy power XD. Eika's power is the ability to bend the minds of otehr creatures to her will.)

Shard's Return
(I'm gona post in the same format Christina does because I can XD)
Shard walked back with the mouse dangking from her jaws. She made it back to the original meeting spot and sat down in a cluster of bushes, eating.
Soon, she heard footsteps and looked up. Eika came padding into view with a fox cub in her jaws. Shard watched in fascination as she began to eat. Eika got up and padded over after awhile.
"Where'd you get that?" She asked in wonder. Her eyes were full of wonder like a young kit's. Eika suddenly shook her head and straightened up. "Sorry, I'm kinda curious." She apoligizied.

Fyet returns... with a new hat.
Fyet finishes eating his deer. Mmm... it always tasted good when he was in tiger form. Oh well, time to meet the others. And perhaps not like this... they might attack him. And three to one wasn't good odds... though he probably could take them if he truly tried, he wasn't willing to hurt such good people. But he wasn't about to leave empty handed...
...
A small rustling in the bush signaled Fyet's return, though it was slightly different than expected. In marched the orange cat, completely casual, but with the set of deer antlers on his head. Looking around at the others, he tilts his head to the side, and says:
"I trust the hunt went well for everyone? Everyone is satisfied... wait, where'd the other one of you go?"

I presume you mean me...
Tear finishes the fish at her leisure, before disposing of the fish's skeleton in a shadow, where it would return to the earth. She stands, and walks into the shadows surrounding her hidden den. Her ears perk up as she hears someone effectively calling her, and she soundlessly walks up from the shadow of the trees and foliage behind them.
"I'm over here." Tear says softly, her voice soft and gentle.
Sitting in the shadow, only Tear's eyes can truly be made out; her black fur can hardly be seen within it.
