Hi everybody, I'm looking to begin a fun, futuristic, free form game. You might ask why I'm posting this up in the Recruitment threads and this is simply because I want it to have a level of guidance, not only from me but from those who chose to join. I want it to be a communally lead adventure.

I'm totally open to discussion about everything, I'm just a player like everyone else in this but basically what I have envisioned is to create the crew of a spaceship, lost in both time and space. I think it would be a lot of fun to work together to create adventures in all sorts of periods of time on Earth (anything from prehistoric to distant future) as well as all sorts of different planets.

It'd be a really cool way to flex creative muscles in working together to create all sorts of different worlds, some can be scary, some funny and some mysterious. We can take this in the direction of political intrigue sometimes and go as far from that as possible in absurdist adventures. The core I want to keep is developing neat relationships between the crew members (everything from hatred to love). On a wayward ship we will have to work together to survive no matter what.

Characters can be anything from an invented alien race to a pirate from the 1700's who somehow ended up in this strange, amalgamated crew. This will be a great venture for any writer looking to challenge themselves: inventing a character from any walk of life and placing them in all sorts of contexts, examining and deepening their values and moral codes (or lack thereof) and delving into personal and societal history. Characters of completely opposing personalities will be forced to work together to solve all sorts of problems.

Ideally this will organically move from episodic adventures to a mystery or mission that ties itself throughout the story but I want to work with all the players to develop this. Instead of guiding the players through a web it'll be cool to discover the web together.

I am going to begin by playing the captain of the ship, to help get things rolling at the beginning, as well as playing the character I intend to be my primary character (but who knows what will happen!). I want to everyone to help to find out what we know of each other and our history before bringing it to life and working together to take the story to all sorts of places and thicken the plot! I really hope this has caught some sort of attention because I think it would be super fun and a great challenge for an RPer, either experienced or completely new to it, to learn to develop a character and at the same time work with everyone else (I'm certainly looking forward to it!). This looks quite interesting, as though I was not already stretched to my limit, not counting the pair of essays quickly approaching.

I can already imagine the creative antics that would be invoked by my friend, should Reralae take interest in this concept. Paricularly in toying with the idea of being a crew from about any walk of history.

I totally understand the concern about how busy things can get and would be willing to slow things down if that's what was needed for anyone to keep up as long as we kept it alive! I really do agree that a lot of fun can be had. Think about it and let me know, it'd be really great to have you!

It's a really interesting concept. I'd be interested, but I'm not entirely sure if I'd have the time either. :/

This is one that I really want to get started so in the near future I intend to post some information onto this thread before beginning a free-form, even between my two characters in order to establish things and get into the MEAT of it!!! If you want to join by all means drop in here before swinging down to the free-form section. I intend to hold onto the New Year before I get my expectations of a getting a truly funky game going! I'll be back on here soon (even if I am just posting to myself )

Awesome man good call! I should be getting more info up on this soon maybe just wait a little to work on your recent history (how you got onto the ship, etc...) while I get a bit of a background going but please start up on your character. That'd be great! I'll see you in the Fields of Rune!

Okay, so once I've gotten my other games out of the way this one will SERIOUSLY pick up! (I hope if I say it enough it will :-). But I will be posting more and kickstarting the free form one soon.

Okay so now that I'm basically done character creating for other games I'm going to get this one started. I don't know if time has freed up for any of the others who were curious or if Bezmir is still interested but I'm excited to get it going and hopefully it will find itself building steam.
