'Belway Academy was shocked last week as the fifth death within a month. Raven Lamour, a young earth witch, was killed in her dorm. What evil is stealing away our future witches, and how will we stop it?'

Dawn opened an eye as light poured onto her face. She was on her way to Belway Academy, her new charge. The only other person in the car was some fire witch named Edward, one of her new partners. The others were coming later.
She sighed and pushed back her bangs.

Light streamed in the car as his travelling companion awoke. She had been sleeping for a while, but he hadn't. In a way, he'd been too tired to sleep, in another way, too excited. The Academy promised to make him even more powerful, better able to harness the volatile power of fire. He stretched out his lanky body as best he could and readjusted his staff, which kept getting in the way as much as he did in the cramped confines of the car. He checked the pocket watch in his vest. Just a little longer and they'd arrive. Just then, his familiar, a black cat named Hex alerted him to her presence by rubbing her head against his wrist. He patted her on the head and looked into her eyes, which seemed to ask, "Are we there yet?" Soon, he hoped. He couldn't take much more of this drive. Still, at least Hex was being patient, she curled up on his lap and promptly went back to sleep. He decided to at least be polite to the witch in the car with him, so he opened up with the same old line, "So...are you a good witch or a bad witch," with a slightly sarcastic smile.

Dawn looked at him with her amber eyes. Her whole life, people couldn't look her in the eye. "I'm neutral." She paused, then smirked. "But I lean towards bad." Dawn pushed her hair back again. Her magic was gnawing at her brain, begging to be loose. She sighed and turned back to the window.

The car pulled to a stop and Dawn stepped out, craning her neck to stare at Belway.

Donald was flying down the highway towards Belway. He was singing along to the song on his radio, wolves in wolves clothing. NoFX. His vehicle was hazy as he threw his roach out the window. He leaned back to enjoy the rest of the ride. As he looked out the windshield, he though to himself.

I'm toasted...

Dawn gulped. Jacobi was in there, somewhere. She shuddered at the thought.

Adrian saw the car pull up. He didn't know these people. Who were they, what were they doing here...a nearby fountain shot out a torrent of water. He was angry, why did they keep bringing more people he didn't know. They never liked him anyway, he was "dangerous", "unsafe" and "abomination to magic". He could not be trusted, and nor could they. He kept his ditance, hiding in the bushes and ferns lining the academy wall. He decided to stay away, but he would watch them.

Dawn looked back at Edward. "Welcome home."
She let a small whip of fire encircle and warm her as she walked to the castle.

Donald pulled into the school. An impressive structure, at least. As he began to get out, he noticed a couple doing the same near him. But other than that...he felt something from the ground. It told him someone was watching him, already finding deep distrust and malevolence towards him. He just got here, and people hated him. Oh well. He shouldered his bag, and looked at the school one more time. Here we go...it's either this or jail man.

Adrian saw how easily she conjured a flame. He saw how well she could control it, and he grew enraged. He was furious that she could control her magic, but he could not. The ground began to shake, and the nearby fountain just happened to spray her with water, dissapting the flame and drenching her in fluids. The nearby students laughed, but she looked scared.

Some students walked over to her.

"Best not to use magic in public, he's probably watching."

Dawn looked back to see another figure. She waved.

"Hey! New here?"

"And who is that?"

Donald saw the whole thing, and walked over laughing. That was a good way to start off a school. He introduced himself. "Donald Jackovitch. You don't need to know more."

Adrian grew even more furious. She had not left, she had not ran in fear. She simply stood there...and made a friend. He couldn,t make any friends...he was dangerous, he was abrupt...hostile. Alone. His eyes grew brighter and his hair swirled around...he could take it no more.

A furios gust of wind blew across the lawn, a gust so powerful, it picked up any losse object and threw them around like toys. Several professors came screaming out of the academy entrance.

"Children, inside now!"

"Dawn Belway."

The girl every male witch wants, she nearly added.
