DnD stereotypes

I have come across several stereotypes for our, let me just say it, our kind of gamers. Please let me know if these have any truth in your game settings and let me know of anymore that you may know.

1. lots of mountain dew (check)
2. loads of funyuns (the oniony type chip, nope)
3. black light (nope)
4. something to get high with (nope)
5. we're all still virgins (just like the rest of the world on this one guys and gals)

there it is and let me know your opinions on these and give me more

fun...

Well, let's see...

1. lots of mountain dew (check)
2. loads of funyuns (the oniony type chip, nope)

Check on number one. Number two? Nah. Doritos, cheese puffs, pizza.

3. black light (nope)
4. something to get high with (nope)
Nope, nope. I was actually unaware of the black light stereotype, and have only gamed with one person who had one (and that, as a teenager).

Don't game with any who get high, at least, not at game sesions.

5. we're all still virgins (just like the rest of the world on this one guys and gals)
I have two kids and a hot wife, so I gotta go no on this one. I have to say, though, I have played with quote a few who might be... and quite a few who definitely are not.

You left out the computer geek stereotype... fits me like a glove, I'm afraid.

okay

1. lots of mountain dew (no. Never touch the stuff)
2. loads of funyuns (What the? No idea what a funyun is. We do used to do sour cream and onion chips, but in these weight loss days we do veggies with humus and pretzels)
3. black light (no. Why on earth? I can barely see the dice in the regular light)
4. something to get high with (Absolutely not.)
5. we're all still virgins (No. Other than my daughter 10 and god daughter 12 who game with us)

Things we alway have:

I wear my Carpe DM t-shirt.
I always start the session with "continuing where we last left off ..."

Stereotypes? I gotta transistor radio!

Hmmm... anything here that applies?

1. lots of mountain dew?
Nope... Coffee or iced tea usually works for me...

2. loads of funyuns?
Nope... Don't really do munchies too much...

3. black light?
Whoa...gnarly... nope again, though. I do have a blacklight stashed in the garage somewhere, though.

4. something to get high with?
What, you mean other than the buzz I get from being someone/something else? Nope.

5. we're all still virgins?
And another nope... Like Olan, I've got two kids and a beautiful wife... other gamers I know... mmmm... probably some.

6. Computer geek?
Okay, maybe a little... I'll concede that one...

And how about the "dorky, pastey, pimple-popper syndrome" for #7?

Me... dorky = probably some, depends on who you ask.
pastey = ha! NEVER!
pimple popper = Well, this one time, at band camp....

Ummm...

None of the above, actually. Funions and Mt. Dew are more for parties. Our games are heavuily influenced by cherry limeade, though.

Stereotype? Ha!

Apparently, I destroyed a major stereotype just by being a girl I know we're much more common now, but twenty years ago?

Mountain Dew is not caffienated up here, so it's Diet Coke or green tea for me.

As Alacrity said, veggies and humus, pretzels, popcorn, fresh fruit, that sort of thing

Black light? Nope. Always wanted to try by candlelight, but too dark.

Virgins? Well, again, my daughter and goddaughter qualify, but I have a really hot husband who apparently overlooked mentioning my cuteness

Computer geek? Despite working in technology for now half my career, I'm not a developer, or system engineer, etc. I am an enthusiatic computer user, though...so a geek wannabe???

reasoning

Stephen Lynch, a comedian songwriter, wrote a song featuring Dungeons and Dragons which is where I got most those that were on my list. Also, they had an episode on buffy the vampire slayer, forgot which season, where they were playing dnd. I have also various cartoon clips on the web where the mentions these same steretypes. I have a blacklight myself but do not use it for dnd.

oK

1.lots of mountain dew (Nope – JOLT – that the ticket)
2.loads of funyuns (nope - Doritos, cheese puffs, pizza.)
3.black light (nope – Not since the 60s )
4. something to get high with (nope – DND call for clear thought)
5. still virgin? (HA – I’m a granddad!)
6.Computer geek (Guilty, but few would call me one to my face!)

Of my buddies who play:

One is an ex Navy EOD who collects and uses firearms

One is a weilder built like a tank

Another is a tall (really big) Irsh fellow who likes to get drunk and fight.

etc .....

Fair enough

1.lots of Mountain Dew (nope red bull, water or cofee we used to drink alot while playing...took us a while to figure out why we didnt finish anything)
2.loads of funyuns (I dont eat snacks like that i even go to point of bringing my own food which really pisses people off)
3.black light (a friend of mine had one in his car hooked to his sub does that count?)
4. something to get high with (never got into pot used to pill a fair bit but I thankfully grew up from that)
5. still virgin? (nope but most of the people i game with are they hardly get out to make matters worse)
6.Computer geek (quite personally i hate computers but there so entertianing)
7. Dorky- (nothing to prove but everything to hide lol i have 2 hobbys that that are like oil and water and i mean litrally took the people i game with plus some friends from the gym/personal trianers course and they used me like a dividing wall one group stood on one side and one group stood on the other side of me and both groups talked to me heaps but hardly to eachother despite my best efforts oh well win some loose some thought it would be good for the gamers to meet new people)
8. Pastey (too much sun for that)
9. Pimple Popper- ( tribulus works wonders for muscle gain but it also makes me break out like never before im currently cycling off it btw its a plant extract)

Heres one for maybe number 10. Avid reader of Sci Fi and Fantasy novels and thinks JRR Tolkin was a God (i wouldent say avid but i dont mind fanstasy novels tolkien a god pfft good read id say)

Thats my answers but sadly the people i game with are very much "the sterotypes" and some are almost beyond help
