Ella sat by the dying fire of her campsite, awaiting her companions. They had all set off on various duties and whims, but she had vowed to guard camp in their absence. She looked into the flickering embers, wondering again how she had happened by the group.
Because she was a prophet going against King Damian.
She hated that man: He had taken everything she ever loved. Her mother, with her laughing blue eyes and warm arms; Her father, with his booming voice and shockingly red hair; Her older brother, with all his subtleness and strategies. Ella clenched her fists.
She was going to bring that man down.

He'd walked a few feet out into the darkness. He hadn't left, no. He wasn't much for "gathering firewood". At least that was the excuse he gave.

Instead, he stood against a tree, watching her from a distance. She was troubled. He couldn't care less. Sure he was a "good guy", but thats not why he joined her. He found her attractive, and figured he might get somewhere with her...or some of the other members. He might even meet some pretty thankful women. He could only imagine it.

"Oh thank you Roy, for saving our town single handedly. You even saved the lifes of your comrades...your so big and strong and brave!"

'Yeah', he thought to himself...'she'd be putty in my hands.' Then he thought about...what was her name, he wasn't good with names...Ella? Maybe he could conveniantly save her life...the assassin was a bit rough, a bit scary...but not entirely undesierable. She'd even expressed a little bit of interest in him, but he knew she was a demon. Demons kept multiple lovers, and often disposed of them violently after they were done. It helped their "ego". He decided he'd try to steer clear of the assassin, but he couldn't make any promises.

He snapped out of his daydream when Ella shifted a bit. He decided it was time to head back to her. He pulled out his sword, and easily felled a tree. How a sword could be so insanely powerful he did not know, but he wasn't complaining.

He gathered up the tree and dragged it back to the campsite with his immense inhuman strength. He was a show off, but this time he wasn't doing it on purpose.

He layed the tree next to his tent and found a rock by the fire, sitting down and glancing across it at Ella.

"W-wow!" Her gemstone blue eyes were wide. "That must have taken a while."

Ella looked at him appreciatively and stood up. She brushed off the front of her pants and smiled at him. "Did you see the others while you were gone? Artura was supposed to be back by now, but with all our luck she found another lover..."

"Nah, I lopped it down in a few seconds. No trouble at all." He strecthed out, taking great care to allow the muscles in his arms to flex and bulge before answering her question.

"As for the others, haven't seen them. I figured that...whats her name? Artura? Well, she's probabaly off seducing some poor fellow..."

He smiled a crooked smile and cracked his knuckles.

Ella smiled again and blew a curl of bright red hair out of her face. "Problably..."

She sighed and shook her head. "Ah well, her choice. Come, sit down." Ella sank back down and patted the spot beside her.

"Don't mind if I do..."

He got up and strolled slowly around to her. It wasn't this easy. He knew women, they were smart...smarter than men. They could mess with your mind, play tricks on you. She was up to something...

He nestled in beside her and drew his sword, running his forefinger along the flat of the blade and smiling. He could see his reflection. This sword never broke, never tarnished, never bloodied. It was always perfect, no matter what happened to it. Indestructable.

Ella sighed and looked up at the sky through the trees. One thing never changed in this world: the stars. They always stayed beautiful even when everything else was twisted and cruel.
She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. For the moment, everything was calm.

She was so playing hard to get. He liked the quiet and thoughtful type though. She seemed at peace. He joined her, following her gaze up to the stars. A bright band of milky stars streaked across the sky and he lost himself in it.

Ella smirked and peeked at him. "The stars are beautiful." She murmered and laid back, putting her hands behind her head.

"They sure are."

'Almost as beautiful as you.' he thought to himself. He;d almost said it, but he didn't want to be too out front. He knew how to work with women, and he could tell she wasn't one to appreciate a direct come on.

Ella smiled and sighed. "It's hot tonight." She said and pulled off the leather vest she wore. Ella grinned to herself as she unbottened the top few buttons of her shirt. She looked at him. "Don't you think?"

He was a little shocked. She was either lulling him into a trap to find out his true intentions, or she was interested in him already, and they'd only known each other for a but a few days.

"I guess you could say that. It's a bit warm."

He contnued looking up at the sky, trying not to betray what he was really thinking about right now. She was totally presenting herself to him, but he held back. He pulled his wings into his back, through a gap in his armor, and layed down beside her, still looking up at the sky. His folded his arms and placed them on his chest.

She was good.

"Hm. Very." Ella toyed with the top of her shirt and stretched her arms, making her shirt fall even farther down. "A bath would be really good right now."

"I can understand that. Sounds good to me".

"Oh yes, a nice one in a waterfall." She pushed her hair back again. "Maybe there's one nearby..."
