Loaded Dice #31: Funny is in the Eye of the Beholder

Newest strip is up and live. Pleas share your thoughts and criticisms here.

Also, please reddit the comic if you enjoyed it. We've gotten a HUGE amount of traffic from reddit on the last coupl eof strips, thanks to RDI members voting for it. Just click the link (log in or create an account, if you need to), and click the up arrow at the top of the page next to the comic name. Comments are great, but up votes are better - they keep us on the front page of the comics submissions longer, and thus, expose us to more hits.

Thanks!

haha

I love the face on the librarian when he gets stabbed...

I almost feel sorry for the poor dead guy.

eyep

Poor, mindless nerd. First he gets killed, then raised as an undead, then killed again.

Sucks to be him.

question

I was reading comments on reedit, and one commenter said the characters look either pissed off or smug all the time.

I ask all of you, do they? Honest question.

I encourage any criticism of my art, by the way.

lolkat, out.

well...

To be honest, they frequently are supposed to be one or the other. It's a pretty snarky group.

I see a lot of grins, too.

Hmmm...

smug smiles...

I can kind of see where the comment came from.

The girl and the junk food junky (I'm terrible when it comes to names please forgive the use of 'nicknames' here) usually seem to be the two most likely to just look happy.

But yeah... the DM should look smug like... always. And polo boy -never- looks smug. Angry sometimes... and surprised more often... *nod*

The expressions fit, IMO...

...both the characters and their reactions to the situations they're in.

If someone gave it a down vote for that, I'm guessing that they've never sat down at a tabletop game and watched the expressions of the players as the game unravelled... That, or they were always LG characters trying to get to the Peppermint Palace in Candy Land and the worst thing that ever happened to them was getting stuck in the Molasses Swamp for a turn.

Seriously... how often is the player reaction to an old monastary filled with frozen undead ?

DM's comments on the strip

...it's no wonder some players have their charries stab avery body they come across:

Player 1: Bob, not cool, man...it's dead!
Player 2: Well, NOW it is...for certain, this time

Confused about the

The webmaster has been telling us to go to reddit and vote, but I was clicking on the Top 100 Comics icon that appears beside the comic logo....I was so confused by the urging of the webmaster to remember to click the up arrow.

There's no stinking arrows on Top Web Comics, lol!

heh

Please, feel free to vote on top webcomics (you can do this daily)... but reddit is responsible for more traffic per strip than almost everything else put topgether.

I'm now including a reddit link in every one of these update threads.

I for one think the art is fine...

I think the artwork is fine for the story so far. I for one am looking forward to the moment that all the players have to work together to overcome an obsticle that no player can overcome by themselves. I'm sure when the players all have to throw in on a desperate fight or work together to solve a puzzle they will be all smiles till the next fight.

Good. I will continue to make everyone look smug/pissed off.

Take that, reedit commenter!
