Yes, I'm back
Hello everyone,
I hope everyone's well, and yes, I am back! I'm afraid this is the -second- time I'm returning after a long absence, both times due to intense personal events/problems getting in the way of gaming. Needless to say, I feel terrible about leaving with such short notice. But, the point is, I've only recently gotten back into D&D; I'm running a tabletop game for the first time in forever and am looking to lurk or maybe even join a game on RDINN.
I just got back from Europe a couple weeks ago, and have started again at my old job. I have a new computer, new house (still renting), and am finished with school. After I finished school, I went through one of life's rough patches. So I decided to take what was left of my college fund and take a trip through Europe. I had a great time, and I'm now back in the swing of real life; I figure that now's probably a good time to get back into the swing of things in fantasy land. I'm not exactly setting the world on fire; those of you who know me know that I was getting a philosophy degree, and as such am now pretty much only qualified to wait tables.
In any case, I hope everyone got along fine without me and I'm looking forward to some gaming in the future!

How delightful to see you back dear Cap'n!
Your creativity has been missed around here I assure you.
at the waiting table bit. I've got a degree in history (without a teaching certificate) which makes me qualified to audit invoices apparently... hehe.
They tell you to pick a major you are passionate about and to follow your dreams... that anything is possible! And then you graduate and try to sell that to an employer... doesn't work out so great.
But hang in there... and hang out here for some good old stress relief!

Got a degree in German and a non-professional degree in biology. Which basically means that I'm qualified to go back to grad school
Welcome back again. Try to stick around a bit this time

And he's back again
This is what...the third time you've rolled around? You're going to have to make up your mind sometime Lou, you're confusing the children.
I don't know what children I'm referring to.

Europe
I stayed in Paris for a little over a week, then went to Bruges and Amsterdam, visited Berlin, then stayed in the Czeck Republic for about two weeks (it was fantastic). This small town called Cesky Krumlov is a hidden gem of Europe; I could probably live there. After that, I was in Austria for a week, and took a day trip to Slovakia. I was in Munich for Oktoberfest, where I met up with some friends who were already traveling. After Munich, I dipped down into Italy and was there for another couple of weeks. I went up through Nice for a few days, heading west, and stopped in Monte Carlo for a day (but didn't spend the night). Then, I planned on spending a week in Spain, visiting Barcelona and Madrid, but I stayed for an extra week in a town called San Sebastian because it was awesome. After that, I returned to Paris for a week and then flew back home. To be honest, I was more than happy to get back after a few months abroad.
Austin, TX is still probably my favorite city I've been...

Nice
That's pure coolness... Sounds a bit like my Interrail trip in 1990. O.o Jeesh! That's lifetime ago. Although I didn't get to spend quite that long traveling. Only 4 weeks or so. Wish I could go again.
