Tome of Magic

Following the lead of my previous thread regarding the ToB, I am curious to see what my fellow Innmates thought of the Tome of Magic. I hardly hear anyone talk about any of the classes, I think I have only ever seen one person show any interest in any of the classes presented there, and that was the binder. So let's see what you think of this content and why.

Shadow Magic is cool

Personally I like the idea of the shadow caster. The prestige classes in that section of ToM are pretty cool too (I like the Sadowblade in particular). I haven't played that much with them as of yet, but I am currently ina campaign with a shadowcaster so we'll see how it goes.

The binder class I'm not sure of. It seems like it could be cool, but I haven't read too much into it honestly. I bought the book for the Shadow stuff.

Short and sweet

Truenamer: Actually broken, as in...does not work. Silly.

Binder: A 1-level dip for most classes to get a silly ability. Couple obvious combos.

Shadow: Never actually bothered to read.

Grugg

Care to elaborate on what makes the Truenamer broken? I haven't really read it all the way though myself, but it looked like a serious pain with all the magical gibberish.

Binder

I'm quite fond of the binder class actually. It serves very nicely as a multi purpose character... very much like Master of Masks in the "Complete Scoundrel" volume. I would defs play one.

meh

WE had a new guy join our group and brought a binder with him. It was awkward. Honestly I haven't given much thought to the ToM.
