What was your favorite table top rpg character ?
I was just wondering what interesting and fun characters other RPGers had played.
I have 2 favorites.
The first was a Gestalt Dwarf Fighter/Cleric17 of War and Destruction named Werral Balrak (warsoul wrathhammer).
He used an magic warmace and was buff crazy.
The DM had us running an overpowered campaign where eventually my character ended up with his own temple centered in a planar rift, tied to the plane of battle, that surrounded it. The wizard/sorcerer had a floating tower castle that hovered hundreds off feet in the air above it. they were connected by magical transport rings like in stargate.
My second favorite character to play was a Kobold gestalt barbarian/sorcerer named Meepo.(yes I stole that name)
He had usable wings thanks to some feats out of races of dragon. Which, along with his spellcasting, early level barbarian rage and magic buffs, made him deadly in the campaign at all levels.
We were all monster races and we were a special forces team striking back behind enemy lines. The enemy was the evil human empire who had sided with an evil god and were trying to wipe out everyone who wasn't human.
I'd like to hear about your favorites. It doesn't have to be from D&D.
How about hearing some of the favorite characters you have DMed too?

Meepo Missle
Man, meepo was fun playing with. Especially since my dude, Shaegar - Brass 1/2 Dragon/Merrow Barbarian ended up getting pissed while in a rage and threw Meepo at one of the enemy npcs that he couldn't get to. I rolled a 20 and then Meepo rolled a 20 for the attack. It was freakin awesome. That was a fun Campaign. Everyone started out with the same ECL so we simply had to blast with the characters from the start.

Holy flying Meepo Kobold-Man!
I wish I could have been there, nothing like a good, old-fashioned 'Fastbal Special".

that lil rat...
Oh yeah, I totally forgot that meepo used my guy's extra large backpack as a makeshift carriage/home. I do remember him once doing a surprise attack from my backpack and slammed his axe into this one guy giving him a splitting headache (pun intended lol).

My favorite, oh how I miss him.
Edvin the Cripple was my personal favorite.
It was a free form game, and he filled the bard spot. He had lost his leg as a child and used a walking crutch. His years of being one-legged had leg him to develop a tumbling style to keep out of distance. It wasn't until someone mentioned they might be like the 'drunken immortal' and the game master killed him... drowned him in a freak ale spill.
I miss my one-legged flautist.

Xorathiel Quellivathan
He's a Totemist*/Scout Duskling* and is completely psychotic. The party was out exploring the deep woods when I joined the campaign, so the backstory I came up with for him made him a hermit living out in the wilds by himself. He had almost forgotten how to speak Common when the party found him. One of the others in the group spoke Sylvan and Xorathiel bonded with him right away. The group finds what they were after and heads back to town.
Xorathiel has no idea how he's supposed to act in society, so he takes all his cues from Gregor (the one who speaks Sylvan). Now, I think, would be good time to mention that the group he's fallen in with are a bunch of thieves and Gregor is about to switch from CN to CE and become an assassin. This is who his teachers were.
We've all moved on to a new, larger city now and Xorathiel has become the group's interrogation expert. He takes all the stuff he learned out in the wild hunting animals and applies it to human physiology. Things like which tendons to cut for maximum pain and minimum chance of killing the target.
As bad as I'm making him sound his alignment is really CHAOTIC-evil. If you're part of the 'bad guys' our group is currently killing off, but you don't draw your weapon, you've got a good chance that Xorathiel finds something else more entertaining than chasing down a coward. I think my DM's willingness to let me indulge in the randomness of this character and that the party hasn't killed him for only ever following half of the plan is what makes this guy so fun. Also, he's the first truly evil character I've had. Started at level 3 with him and now we're all around level 10.

evil
i have one evil i liked to play. he was a anti-paladin. this was before the one in dragon mag was published. he was a homebrew class my DM downloaded.he was human. He had unholy blight always on. He had a +5 vorpal unholy avenger. And he had the largest Dire wolf i have ever seen in game as a mount. He had to fight anyone of opposite alignment whenever he detected one. This was accomplished by a detect like abilty that was always active(spider senses, as the dm would say).
He was the child of Lg paladin(heironeous) and a lg cleric(Pelor). his mother didn't know she was pregnant when they fought some high level outsiders. somehow that magic corrupted their child. He was exiled at a young age with his only friend Kip(rogue CE), who was the son of a cleric(heironeous)who suffered the same fate.
We did too many evil things to list them all.
We once burned down an entire village in the pattern of an evil gods symbol. We killed a young prince's family in front of him and tortured him till he was out royal puppet. We got to drown a paladin in holy water.he couldnt escape the grapple of a storm giant/half dragon that was in the group(all but my character and kip were monstrous somehow). his temple was then destroyed by dark speech, his body mutilated, cursed, and thrown down a well filled with unholy water. Thats just some of the highlights.
"I saw the Light, so i stabbed it!"
The group kinda imploded with all the evil pcs going after each other later on. somehow my guy was the sole survivor.
i don't play over the top evil anymore after this character.

My Novel's Main Characters [Family]
It was a long time ago, I made an elven Swashbuckler, why? Why not, the thing was[is] we always kept an open mind in creating our characters, also dropped a few restrictions, although I do not mention that he is a Swashbuckler in my novel, in our gaming table he was.
Thanfedal Swiftmark, grey elf, he was created in a drunken event. I was actually tipsy that day. I was half asleep, somewhat half cut and making a elven Swashbuckler - I always pick the name first when I can't think of a name right way I am happy that my mind can just wonder and hit the perfect solution into creating a name. Thanfedal, derived from a bottle of alcoholand since it sounded better that Zinfandel, thus Thanfedal Swiftmark was born. I ended using that name in nearly every online RPG type games. His races kept changing but he was still Thanfedal, in an old game I use to play, was basically text based RPing or what I call, no offense to those who do it, collaborating writing and since I am already a writer I tend to avoid these type of RPs. When I did however, that was the second place where Thanfedal evolved to one of my favorite characters to play. Of Nobility standings, political when needed and all around fun character, he is known to love his dearest Thanafae [Jill's character] he has a twin, Neerudaneth, his opposite and also a thief. I wish I could really write more of them for you, however, I have been playing him for 19 years, and that's a lot of info.

Ari Shaku
He was my first character. A 3.5 Air Genesai Paladin. He hates lizardfolk (especially those with greataxes and/or were also barbarians) because on the first hit of the first encounter of the first campaign, he he got killed by a raging ecl 5 lizardfolk barbarian's critical hit...

1 hit kill
Yeah, I'm curious about that death too. I've had to deal with the mortal 1 hit killing "blow" before. It was not fun.
One of the many characters I have played over the years was a gestalt Barbarian. I forget what I had him paired with but we were high lvled and we were facing a demon. We chopped him down and I took the most dmg. Still being pissed from the fight. I cleave the head off. As I'm off chasing after the rolling head. the body exploded and I was left with only the head as a trophy from the fight. Since it was still a fresh kill and not wanting to put it down, my guy simply carried it in his hand along. Unfortunately for us, we came across another demon. This one had the ability to use implode and after seeing the head, you can guess who he immediately used that ability on.
Luckily we had just came from a very talented hidden group of elves that we saved and in returned offered a single use of any services they could provide free of service. Guess where my ass got brought back to lol. I'm pretty sure my dude forever hated demons after that and killed any he saw. You would think he would have learned and just stayed away from them. NOPE lol.

From my pre-D&D days
Anyone else notice a significant concentration of Gestalt characters? Anyway, in an attempt to dilute the concentration a bit, I'll pull one from my days before I discovered that D&D still existed and wasn't just some game from the past >.>
Playing d20 Modern my favourite character is definitely the character with whom I experienced my first, nascent attempts at roleplaying.
Cieala was a member of a secret organization called the Hands of Faith that fought against incursions by monsters into the modern world, along with her brother (played by my brother.
Coincidentally it was also my first, daring attempt to play a female character.
She and her brother were both budding Aasimar psychics, her with the Far Hand wild talent (lift 5lbs) and he with Finger of Fire (take a guess). She was a Charismatic Hero going for the Telepath class and he was a Strong Hero with dreams of becoming a Battle Mind (the two classes d20 Modern presented for the psionic game setting that we borrowed from in our Urban Arcana).
She ran around carrying a sword cane shaped as an umbrella and talking sweetly to the local population to get information by day and cutting up demons and rubbing elbows with a local vigilante vampire NPC by night who once saved her and her brother when they were possessed (me) and enthralled (bro) by a Satanic Ichor.
Come to think of it, we tend to whine nowadays whenever something occurs that we were undermatched against, but back then, we stared the odds in the face and dove in anyway. Sure, that's probably because we were naive and undiscerning of forthcoming curb-stomp battles. Of course we were crapping ourselves when we ran into essentially a TPK in which the players weren't technically dead but being controlled by the GM, but we went along for the ride and things turned out awesomely.
Of course, you don't want to pull that kind of thing too often, 'cause then the character just get tired of being pulled out via deux ex machina after so many times, but if it so happens that they end up over their heads and have their butts kicked in--well that's a healthy character building excersize to help keep those egos in check.
Look at that, ask me a question about a character and I give you a rant. I'll turn things over to the next Innmate, then.
EDIT: Gah! I meant Gestalt, not Genasi!

dynamic entry!
my favorite of all time is my halfling rogue named Wenzle.
Wenzle had some unique traits, first being he had 0 interest in halfling women, he preferred elves, and alternate elves(like drow). Second, he was inventive. By inventive I don't mean in the gnome tinkering kind of way, I mean it in the McGyver kind of way.
For example, his greatest moments were:
1. We were in a dungeon, crawling with bad guys, under lloths command, when we found a drider. Wenzle looked at her and somehow decided he'd do his damndest to save her. So we dispatched the group of drow in the room, and the party was about to kill the drider as well, til Wenzle jumped in front. Well as soon as they left the dungeon, she turned into a beautiful drow. Again the party tried to jump in, and again, Wenzle dove in front to save her. For the next 3 games the drow tried killing and turning Wenzle away, until she finally succumbed to his charms. ( +8charisma drow wife ftw)
2. there was a fight going on inside the tavern "The Golden Gryphon" and our party went in to investigate. Well Wenzle wanted to catch them by suprise. So he told the party to wait (which they didn't) and he went into the alley. Saw a window, and then proceeded to strap 4 decanters of endless waters to his back, and propel up into the bar. Well by some miracle i made it up to the window. Shouting "DYNAMIC ENTRY!!!" but immediately splatted against it, instead of breaking it. and then fell down, and continuously banged my head into the side of the tavern, meanwhile inside, everyone stopped fighting for a round, turned to the window, and saw Wenzle there. They laughed, and as he climbed in with the remainder of his dignity, he started battle.
Good ol Wenzle. I miss him so! Rogue, shadowdancer ftw.

Favorites and failures
My favorite tabletop character was probably from Shadowrun. The only time I ever got to play instead of GM I made an elf named C4. He was supposed to be a demolitions expert and was cyberwared to sanity's breaking point. His stats said he should have been awesome, and I tried to RP him as a stone cold killer. The dice had other plans and C4 wound up a mangled mess of wires, flesh, and meaty bits after wrecking a motorcycle while trying to chase the plots main villain. He never even got to blow anything up.
From a non-tabletop setting, my next favorite character comes from WoW (I played on an RP server and actually RP'd, so I figure it counts). I had a gnome named Watuzi. He stuttered, rambled, and fancied himself to be quite the ladies man. I even made his siblings Tango and Fandango, but I didn't play them much.
