Hi there, just joined, and thought I'd post up a quick greeting!
I've been writing (fantasy, horror, and dark fiction) for over twenty years now, and have only just stumbled upon this (what seems to be) marvelous resource of information.
I'm about to start working on a new series of books which is going to be massive in scope and direction.
Thanks all.
Scott

Well, the bit I would like to post is only a short story (rather short, in fact), but it was published by Gryphonwood Press a while back.
It's called The Old Woman and the Creature, and it was going to be part of a much larger series of books, yet my partner at the time...well, she thought that it worked much better as a short story. I agreed, but never really liked the piece (yet it has had quite wide acclaim online).
Where would I post it?
There is a section under The Creativity ForumcalledPersonal Creations.
That's where short stories, poems, etc. go. There are mini descriptions under titles in the forums as kind of general 'sign posts'. Can't wait to read it! Is that one of those 'I am my own worse critic' type of things? *winks*
Does Gryphonwood Press have their own website, or is that an online magazine?

Welcome, new friend, to the Inn. You will find that this place practically oozes with creativity, as many of us (myself included) fancy ourselves as writers. Not to mention the amount of creativity and work that goes into the roleplay around here.
Oh and before I forget, you'll be needing this later... *hands a large towel* You'll know what its for before long.
Welcome to your new digital home--here, take a seat by the hearth and tell us tales from far off lands! We have great company for a writer such as yourself here at the Inn, including at least one published author. Some people draw, others write short fiction and poems. . .some DM, many game and pretty much all of us are decently well-read and can string at least a few sentences together.
By further way of welcome, please accept a bouquet of wildflowers and a tall stein of spiced mead! So happy to have you join our growing and sometimes looney family of Inn-mates! *Tail Wags!* Ah, I see you have your trusty towel--yes, do hold on to that.
Anything I can do to help you get settled in, get your bags unpacked or if you want the silver piece tour of the place, just shoot me a PM. Please check out our webcomics, interactive gaming tools and vote for the Inn daily at the Home page.
We have a lot of wonderful, and highly talented writers around here. Looking forward to seeing your stories and such in the creativity part of the forum.

Never fear... I'm really quite harmless...
~All our times have come
Here but now they're gone

Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain
We can be like they are
Come on Innmate... Don't fear the facelick
Innmate take my hand... Don't fear the Facelick
You’ll eventually dry... Don't fear the Facelick
Innmate, I'm your man...~
Welcome aboard, Scott... Enjoyed your "The Old Woman and the Creature" post... looking forward to you becoming a regular around here and reading more of your work... perhaps even in an RP or two, yes?

Hiya
Welcome to the inn!
We might not be the purdiest or the largest roleplaying community out there, but hell we certainly are the warmest and friendliest. We're one big family in here and we're all happy to see a new brother join the Inn.
Do lurk around, join a game or two, perhaps start your own if you feel like it. Got any questions, ask away and you shall doubtlessly receive an answer or three.
