Nomachron has need once more
So after much deliberation and prodding from Tek, I've decided to pick up the dice and maps, screens, and recipe cards of monsters new and old once more to DM a game.
Anyone who has played in any of my venues before knows my games focus on character growth and development above all else. The characters have an almost limitless opportunity to direct the storyline, and develop. Homes, Headquarters, Guilds, families, nothing's out of the question, though all come with responsibility and consequence.
This starting game is going to be a standalone adventure to start, with the very real possibility of opening into a full-fledged campaign should interest and time from all parties allow.
Nomachron is a world wrought with evil and suffering after the Titans-war has left the world itself shaken, broken...scarred. I would consider this adventure to be a Grim setting with heroic and fantastical nuances. I'm really just putting a feeler out there to see if anyone's interested.
It'll be a D&D 3.5 edition starting at level 5 I believe for started facts while i dig out all my maps notes pantheon and etc etc. More information will certainly come, as I said this is just testing the waters.
NOTE: Valuable Information is being added to the Q/A for your benefit
Accepted Characters:
Spot 1-Atharam Marquel -- Paladin
Spot 2-Joseph David Gabriel Feroz -- Druid
Spot 3- Vicente La Rosa - Wizard
Spot 4- Savan Ghoul - Ranger
Spot 5- Janus - Bard
Spot 6- Grugg -Paladin of Freedom
Spot 7 - Skye -unknown.

Bombs away
Since this is largely here from my own hustling work, it would only be fitting that I throw in a submission.
Plus, I'm liking the atmosphere you've described. Very much my kind of setting.

*tossing* my hat in the ring
Hello,
I'd like to throw my name in the pool of people being considered for your game. I am experienced with 3.5 and am good with Rogue, Ranger, Cleric, and would love to play a wizard.
Merci,
Phelan

Dragonblood
This will be a 'good aligned' campaign. That being said I've allowed less than righteous character's in before. Self serving and scheming are character traits as much as bravery or honesty. Note that when it comes down to it I have had PC's turn on 'evil' pc's before if they were caught or deemed afoul and put to justice before we moved on with the game.

Posting rate will be once per week average with extra posts thrown in as time / pace allow.
It is advised that all roles be filled, be they melee, ranged, arcane, divine, and roguish but I do not stand by perfect party breakdowns soo if I get 6 really well laid out paladins we'll go from there rofl.
That being said.
Applicants are asked to post a response to the following for consideration.
The world is in ashes save for a few bastions of civilization fighting desperately to carve an existence in a world ravaged by war, blight and corruption. A call for adventurers has been sent far and wide, and people flock to the summons for many reasons, be they honor, wealth, fame, greed, power, or another. Numerous Mercenary Groups, have assembled, all hoping to fill their ranks and claim superiority in these uncertain times.
Making your way through dozens, perhaps hundreds of others you find yourself at a pedestal, upon which a single sheet of parchment appears, quill and inkwell sitting aside it.
Upon the parchment is a simple request.
Adventurer, Look to your left, now your right. Look behind you, and perhaps to the fellow begging to borrow a quill some four bodies over. What makes you more valuable in our time of need than any of them? What steps have you taken, to carve from rough stone the figure that stands before this page, and what is it that drives you into service?

Ooh
I'm game, I have a PDF of the 3.5 Rules but haven't had a chance to play (I know the rules quite well), but am experienced in 4th ed and have had some dealings with Neverwinter Nights and other such 3.5-based games.
As for my response:
I, Savan Ghoul, have wandered through catacombs, crypts and the ashen wreckage of woods, the burning remains of my peoples' home. The day before my naming, before all I knew was forged anew in despair, I believed that our traditions, my elven ancestors, had preserved us thorugh these dark times. When those ancestors themselves rose and turned on us my fate was sealed.
That day I learnt the audacity of 'claiming' a name, for how can one claim who he or she is? I, baptised in the dark memories of that night, found my name.
So, like the Ghouls and undead I hunt I now stalk the dark places, lest the dwellers there stalk the surface.
However revenge cannot sustain even the darkest of hearts forever and now I see that to fight for my Lost kinsmen I must not only fight for myself but others as well.
My Character will be an Elven Ranger focused around 2 weapon fighting.

I brought my own quill.
Hello Kaelyn,
I would be interested in playing a wizard in your upcoming game. I am familiar with the 3.5 D&D system and have access to a large majority of the info for character creation and such. If you already have a wizard, I would be willing to come into the game as perhaps the party Rogue.
My response:
After training for several years in the art of magic I labored intensively in the service of the old kingdom. In the war that followed I, Vicente, fought for my home and family only to see their very lives extinguished before me. Upon taking vengeance for my family in a flash of fire, I fell to my knees and wept in the ashes of my life, in those moments I felt the presence of my deity descend upon me. In that moment I knew that I would be needed, but could not face the charge set before me. Denying my deity, I wandered for a time searching out those who needed my help and slaying those harming innocents. Eventually, as though a veil was lifted from my eyes and the world opened to me again, I found myself in this square for the call to arms. If selected I will pledge my life, skills, and talents to the success for this mission and my comrades in arms.
Merci,
Vicente La Rosa

Starting funds.
The DMG would suggest letting you all start with 9000 gold.. However, given the state of the world recently, and the recovering state of the kingdom...
You all start with 7500 gold worth of gear
Tek you will receive Raykel (standard warhorse) as a bonus due to continuation of character throughout what... 4 games now?
Gear Restrictions:
No more than +1 enchantment on a weapon or armor
No more than 2 scrolls and/or 4 potions
No more than 2500 gold on a single Item.
Character Creation Method:
Starting Stats Before Racial Modifiers. 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18. (these should place you above average for adventure purposes, considering my heightened challenge style) (dont forget your +1 stat at level 4!)

Let's give it a whirl
I've decided to accept everyone that's shown interest thus far. I know both Tek and Dragonbloods writing style and skill, and have accepted them on past merit and PM's filled with talent. We have 4 of 6 spots filled. Grugg has shown interest and requested a spot held until friday till he can determine if he can guarantee the time to play. That leaves one spot open, and perhaps a second should Grugg be unable to commit.
Any questions reguarding character creations feel free to post here or PM me.
