The stuff that bard's sing of...
Come hither friends, stand by the fire!
You needn't be too shy.
I shall sing you a song, with the help of my lyre!
As we bid the night goodbye.
Though I've been absent for quite some time
Believe me, I'm back now for you.
And while I have traveled, and made up some rhymes,
I come now bearing gifts for you.
I have plenty a tale, a collection of sorts,
Filled with joy, mirth and valor.
Though should you hear of their cohorts,
You'll find sadness, woe and horror.
Behind each epic tale is a group of heroes,
Of shapes and sizes a plenty.
The time is near, the clock near strikes zeroes!
And for tales I've at least twenty.
So sit and enjoy as I sing unto you
And do not be too nervous.
I'll make this worth a gold or two;
Eleak, is at your service.
~~~
We all know bard's have many tales to sing, and I'm sure we've all had our characters who's dreams have been to be in a bards tale. Well, this is your chance. Eleak te'Shea sings of many heroes, but tonight, at the Inn, he will sing of one group in particular... Yours.
I'm looking for 3 or 4 players to play some D&D 3.5 and take part in the songs of Eleak te'Shea. These will be small campaigns, short adventures, but have the option of going to another adventure once the prior one finishes. But I suppose I shouldn't get ahead of myself. Let's start with the basics;
Rules: D&D v3.5
Abilities: 16, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10 for base ability scores.
Level: 6
Hit Points: Maximum for your level.
Material: Only Core Books (Players Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, Monster Manual)
Starting Gold: 13,000 gp
Posting: 1/week, updated Sunday nights.
Backstory: Please have one. It can be quite in depth, or somewhat short, but I will need at least these things:
-Moral Code
-Habits
-One significant person/thing in their life, and why it is significant.
-How your character would like to be remembered.
Homebrew Rules:
-Spot, Listen and Search are combined into a "Perception" skill. This skill can be used to do both tasks, as well as notice interesting smells, or feels (although these have usually higher DCs.) and if you have any of the three as a class skill, you have perception as a class skill.
-The tumble check to go past an enemy is not standardized. It is affected by the base attack bonus of the creature which you are trying to tumble past as well as their size they occupy. The DC is
Tumbling Past an Enemy: DC 12 + Base Attack Bonus + Size Modifier (same as used with grapple checks)
Tumbling Through a Square: DC 22 + Base Attack Bonus + Size Modifier
~~~
Should you have any more questions, feel free to pose them here. This is what I shall be committing to at the Inn for the time being... Let's see if I can weasel my way in here.

*coughs*
Sorry, Ive got a very sore throat so I can't yell with joy... well I could but it would hurt. Seriously, it feels like someone's attacked the inside of my throat with sandpaper
I'm in for this game, I've been waiting on one for ages and I'll get my character in shortly.
EDIT: Question, about the perception skill. What if you have bonuses to both spot and listen? Do they stack or do you use the highest or what?

Good one.
I'd forgot to mention that, for things like elves, or the alertness feat. If you have a bonus to both, you halve the larger one, and add it to the smaller one. If they are the same, such as the alertness feat, it becomes +3.
For an elf, it's +4, starting with 2, adding 1, and adding another 1 (their bonuses from spot, listen, and search.)
I hope that's clear, if not, I'll try and send you some more examples.

homigosh yay!!!
A 3.5 campaign that hasn't quite started yet?! I'M IN. Ho yes~
It shouldn't be too hard for me to make up a character...
You mentioned using the core books. Is it possible to use classes/things for any of the other 3.5 books? Or should I just stick with core? (I have almost every 3.5 book at hand on the bookshelf, and I'd really like to play with something different...)

Hum
So that I can run with a character concept I haven't played much before I put dibs on the offensive spell caster (Wild Elf Sorcerer, wild elves are noted in the 3.5e Monster Manual )

For the books...
Yes, it is ONLY the core books that will be used for this. A core rules game will make it so that there is more time to be put into the actual game planning instead of just spending time looking up rules in books all the time.

Should I fill out a standard character sheet and send it to you? I can use a picture and send you the link, if that works?

[insert profanities here]
I can't find a single well layer out excell charactersheet for 3.5 on the whole internet and I can't find one PDF charactersheet that you can fill in and then save a copy off. To make things worse mircosoft word throws a major wobbly whenever I try to do anything. I'll submit my character to you by DM once I've dug out a text frame for it... Still haven't decided if I should have a shot at playing a female character again.
Ah well, I'll have it all worked out soon. Hold fast till then.

Awesome
I haven't played in a while, so if your willing to put up with me for a bit then I'd love to play.
Just to get things strait, only core classes?

For character sheets...
I find that if you go to google and type in heroforge, it gives younquite the comprehensive character sheet that you can use, all in an excel file.
And TsAh, I would love to welcome you on board. And to answer your question, it is only content available in the PHB, DMG and Monster Manual 1 that are allowed.

Backstory
I wouldn't mind joining if you still have room. Never played on this site before though.
When do we have to have backstory done by?
Is Mythweavers site acceptable for character sheet placement (I'd send link for viewing) or does it need to be a excel file?
Link:
http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=180745
Backstory at bottom of sheet.
Chose Ranger because I've never played someone with a level in that (Originally character was a Cleric).
