Without further adieu, here is part five of the Guardian, by Roel Stalpers. Yes, Faustus has done it now...

That second to last panel there....that is amazing. I mean, it's pretty simple, but at the same time, it has to be my favorite out of the entire arc so far.

"How many of you are there?" - Love it. I feel her frustration.

Well after this one, we're entering the last leg of the story.

Looking back on the art I can see the differences between this one and the first one. Which is surprising, since I pretty much drew them all back to back... maybe it's me getting more comfortable with the colours and the characters, maybe it's the linework that's gelling with the colours a bit better, maybe it's something else entirely.

As for the story, like I said earlier, I set the first one up as a bit of misdirection, only to play it straight afterwards. Like Olan said, this isn't going to be part of Loaded Dice canon, and you'll see why not in the upcoming pages.

I took some liberties with the fact that it's still a game being played, where victory and defeat are decided by a roll of the dice.

I wonder who will be the next in the group to show up? With the use of the word "demoness," I got five platinum that says Ladan is on deck in the next strip.

These are great and I'm already feeling that dread for the day the final strip in your series makes its appearance Roel. Bittersweet.
