The Last Blade Recruitment

I just had a fun idea for a homebrew game.

Here is all that you need to know:

The situation, a city-kingdom in the middle of a desert, struck by famine, winter cold and thirst. The situation has been this way since all can remember.
The king has called his greatest people (of which one is the apprentice of the late court mage) to his court for a matter of great importance.
Map of the current world, what you all know:
Map
The rivers pictured aren't in fact rivers, but actually gorges and riverbeds.

Only humans. I suppose that characters should be described in a DnD class manner, that would make life easier.
Note: any warrior classes wouldn't have seen any war, only training combat. Clerics are available, but that's a plot hook to be seen later.

I could probably join

I could join, I just need to know what edition it'll be, and how often you'll play. I could be a cleric for you as well.

oooooooh~

Hmmm....I think I'd like to hear more at the very least. It sounds fun! I'd like to play something rogue-like but more assassin-y.

Okies

It's a homebrew, and very little rules-based, so no particular edition. I mention DnD classes for simple description and flavour of characters' abilities.

How often? Well, I tend to stick to a semi-rule of one post per week minimum for me and players, but more or less is fine.

Shweet!

So how should I make my character? Would you like me to PM you a character sheet or something? Oh and what level do we start, how much starting money, and any limits on equipment?

Bwah

Would a general character skeleton filled out and such work well for these purposes? =3

Stuff

Takley: anyone is welcome. But backstory will have to be quite well-thought out. As far as your characters know, there are no gods. That doesn't mean they can't believe in them though, they just have no magic from them. (for now ^^)

Send me your character sheets filled in below, via PM. If you have any questions, ask away.

Note: Karma is a sort of score. (not same as in Orb of Cleft, Jing ) If someone does something cool, or writes a really good post, or basically needs some bonus for their awesome work, PM me. I'll give them some Karma.
This Karma can be exchanged for favours, or whatever.

Character Name: duh.
Player Name: duh!
Class/es: preferably DnD style, but do as you wish. If you need to visualise it, we're about level 10 or so.
Karma: see above.
Gear: frugal. You'll have no cash, and little to no gear. Don't worry, it'll fall into place. Each of you will have sentimental stuff and maybe weapons, but little else.
Background: have it as rich as you want. The more you put here, the more I can work into the plot and therefore the more interesting it is. Bear in mind that your whole lives have been spent in a fortress, with little to no food nor water, nor comforts. The fighters among you will have been training mainly as a hobby, and the rogue(s) the same, as there's nothing to steal. Also bear in mind that there's no historical documents, as they've all been burnt for the people's survival (the town is composed of around 40 or so people, now, due to starvation, thirst and cold) save a giant frescoe of an ancient battle.

the pally

Character Name:Takley
Player Name:Takley
Class/es:paladin
Karma:
Gear:grandfathers longsword and tower shield, clothing
Background: Trained by his grandfather, Takley grew to be the best blade in the remaining lands. Until the drought happened, he was called upon by lordships and royalty to defend them on missions of democracy and wars. When his grandfather died, he was called by the king to take the role as the last paladin of the kingdom. He then had to swear to defend plant life to The Last Blade and he has to this very day.

Well

Be what you want, as classes go. Make sure that you don't edge in on anyone else's territory

Yes, only human.

And yes, I'll deal with Karma.
