Captain America: What Did You Think?

I just got back from seeing this film and I must say it’s the best of the Super Hero films so far. Better then Iron Man 1-2, the Hulk and Thor. Of course I’m a bit biased as Captain America is my number 1 favorite hero followed by Wolverine and Rogue at 2 and 3 but I totally enjoyed this flick.

From the start when they first find his frozen shield to the ending clip after the credits the movie kept me going and wanting more. They delved into Cap as a wimp, his determantion to keep going, to his wanting to help others. Then to him as a side show actor and then to his true nature as a hero and made it work. Heck they even threw in a few of Sgt Fury's Howling Commando’s like Dum Dum Dugan which made it, at least for me, even more fun.

The ending clip was a good one making me almost drool with anticipation for the Avengers next summer, a movie I'll be at for one of the few times on opening night.
The action was good, the storyline followed the comics of my childhood pretty closely and looked to only deviate on the point of who found Cap in the ice first. Overall the Movie in my book was worthy of an A- and Chris Evens did an outstanding job as just a normal guy from Brooklyn......

AVENGERS! ASSAMBLE!!

tonight

I am seeing it tonight. Anyone know if there is any clips at the end of the credits? Marvel usually does but Xmen First Class had nothing.

saw it

I enjoyed the movie. Not sure I would say it is the best but it was enjoyable. I am glad that They didn't try to modernize it and kept the world war II theme. I enjoyed how the movie played with the American propaganda from WWII and fit it all in.

Now I never read a Captain America in my life and I have no issues of CA in my collection. (I collected DC) So I didn't know what to expect and had no pre-conceived notion.

One piece of script writing really struck me in the movie. Abraham Erskine said to Steve Rogers “People forget that the first country the Nazis invaded was their own.” That is often overlooked in the movies, and I was glad to see it said.

Curious if they can pull off the Avengers without losing the audience. It is a lot of players to share a screen with special effects.
