Request to the webmaster
So, I figure I'll bring it up.
Everyone know, I love it here. But there's something that's been irking me that I'd like to be taken into consideration, and perhaps even changed. The issue is concerning Private Messaging.
I can't say for anyone else, but I have a very hard time organizing my PM boxes. I've never seen a layout like this one before, and I find it very hard to navigate. I loose PMs regarding games, forget where they are, it's all a jumble in there.
Would there be a way to upgrade the PM system to something easier to handle? I know that there are other systems out there, I've been on sites that have them. They're not all the same, but they are all better equipped for multiple PM discussions.
Just an idea I wanted to throw out there. If it can't be done, or if someone else brought this up a while ago, no harm no foul. I will continue dealing.
Thanks~

no foul
This is a custom made system designed for online forum-based games. It needs some new features - and some are in the works - but we won't be going to an out of the box solution soon (ever?).
Have you used the PM folders ability? You can set those up and organize them as you see fit. To me, they work a lot better than, say, phpBB.

Perhaps I need a tutorial
Not quite sure how to work those out, though I'll play with them a bit, yes?
Thank you~

no prob
When you go to your PM screen, you'll see the following:
You are here: Home --> Forum Home --> Private Mailbox --> Inbox (this is a dropdown)
To view your sent messages, go to your Sent Items Folder
To send mass messages, use the Compose Mass PM form.
Folder operations: Add a Folder
First, create a folder for organizing - click on "add a folder".
Once you do that, go back to your main PM box. There are links below every message - reply, delete... also a checkbox.
Check a box on any message (or group of messages) that you'd like to move to your folder.
Scroll to the bottom of the page. You'll see "Click to move selected messages to folder:" and a dropdown. Pick your folder from the dropdown. Click the process button.
They are now organized.
This is how you delete multiple message, btw - check lots, make sure the dropdown is set to "trash". then click the process button.
To view your folders, just choose it from the dropdown at the top of the PM page.

I can see it now, Olan on the 1's and 2's. Beats by Dre headphones hanging loosely around his neck. He smoothly lifts the earpiece to the ear with a free hand. He feels the beat, and the dancefloor feels it too.
The crowd moves in unison, cheers as modern pop riffs are distorted and twisted beneath his fingertips. He reaches down, scratching the record and bringing the music to a halt. The lights go down in the club, and all is silent.
Olan slows down, pausing as he lifts another album from its sleeve. He can sense the crowd's anticipation, and the nervous murmuring and giggles. Somewhere, someone who has drank to much hurls violently on a passing hipster. The moment is perfect.
He deftly slaps the record on the turntable, and places the needle in the groove as the house lights come up in a flare of neon colours.
And then. Then Olan drops the bass.

wow
The above post applauded for awesomeness in the category of silly.
I may come back and change that to a smite, though.

Okay
Let me be the first to agree with Grugg and say any combination of Olan and Dre would be awesome. So even if you don't become a dj is there anyway RDInn could release a mixtape of Olan reading Audalis information over the beats from 2001?
