.. the moon will be full tonight so only the brightest meteors will be visible from darker locations... next year will be a good year though as the moon will be only a waning crescent on the peak night...
actually... it lasts for anywhere from end of July through almost end of August... the peak .. or middle time just happens to be the 13th.. so there is a few good days of observing... just the full moon happens to be during that time and will hamper the best viewing days... but if your in a dark area and have clear skies... look to the NorthEast... you just might be lucky...
