The Scarred Continents: A Grail of Blades
Hi all.
As those of you who have checked up on it know, Celtia and I are co-DMs for the Scarred Continents campaign setting. Seeing as he's running the Aftermath game I thought it only proper that you see my side of the story, exploring the continents of Pandemonium and Sylvor.
This will probably be floating somewhere in the murky depths between a Freeform and Rules Based RPG, as of such to make things easier for players I simply ask that you send me whatever character sheets you want from whatever edition you're most comfortable with (or simply just give me some char details) and I'll convert it into my TSC system.
Anyway, here's some lore to be going on with.
"Many where the heroes of the God Wars, some mighty and benevolent like the now-God Balen, others as cold and sharp as a shard of ice, such as Nernian Ectisor, the Drow Archer who, it was rumoured, took out one of the Demon-Goddess, Lolth's, eyes with her last breath and final arrow.
Others were driven by honour or love, such as the Eladrin Knight, Althea Alleshandros, or by a bitter flame of vengance, like S'hiras Ahran. Thanks to them, the world is safe from the otherworldy predations of demons, elementals and fallen Gods, however, nowhere, whether an isolated farmstead, or world-spanning empire, can be safe from itself.
Now, after almost two hundred years since we were shocked into peace, the peoples of Sylvor once more seek to take up arms against one another, not in a petty conflict accross the borders of their city-states, but in a quest to seek a relic long since thought lost before the God Wars. The Legendary Grail of Blades, an artefact so powerful its weilder can turn legions and shatter armies by himself.
There is but one question, will you answer the Grail's call?

Looking good!
This looks like my sorta game, I had a look at some scarred continent lore and was enthralled however at the time I didn't have enough spare time but now I do!
If you are willing to let me take a place in another one of your games i'll happily join, but feel free to let someone else in if you want some new blood.

Great
I'm fine with any players joining, in fact it's great to have such a surge of enthusiasm so early on.
I'll see whoever else is interested before putting up some more lore, but basically, your characters will be from Sylvour. There aren't any race or class restrictions so go to town with your characters.

Scaling
Start your characters at level 5 (around a sixth of the way up the levels of whatever relevant game system you use). Be careful choosing deities as the 4e pantheon we are using has changed quite a bit, check the Aftermath TSC thread for more info.

Tidings from the West(ern Continent)!
Hey, best of luck, demise! I'll refrain from joining the game, as we discussed, so we're not influencing each other's games too much.
It's looking like its going to be a game to remember, though. I'll be following along and watching the game progress.

Character
Hey, I have started a backstory for my character today.
If i draft up a 3.5e character sheet and PM you it are you okay to make it into an info sheet based on whatever system you plan on making this game into?
I am very familiar with 3.5e however I haven't even seen any 4e content let alone seen the new rules etc...
Is that alright?

Sure`
I'm fine with 3.5 chars, I'll basically take the essentials and make your TSC character with that. I feel that it would be better to let you make the characters in editions you're familiar with rather than creating an entire new system.
Anyway, Takley's already sent me his char (although I would like some backstory from you if that's okay) so once you've all sent me you're details I'll put up the Q&A and begin.

A little more lore
Speaking of Backstories, I feel that I should explain a little more about Sylvor, as most of Celita's lore involves the Western Continent, specifically Arvale.
Sylvor is a small island-continent that is divided up into city states which were, until the God Wars, in a near-permanent state of turbulence at best, war at worst. The chief amongst these are Orisia, ruled by a military council of Generals and with the High Commander as head of state, The Nentir Vale (yes this is taken from the published adventures...I had to start somewhere) ruled by the Eladrin, Cerund Mhalakey, who has lived far beyond his natural lifespan and fought during the God Wars, and Telverin, a northern state comprised mainly of elfin houses which often cause animosity with others due to their pride and tradition.
In the centre of Sylvor is the City of Moonstair (also called the City of Avengers), Moonstair is built on a Planar Rift between the natrual world, Feywild and Elemental Chaos, it is ruled by Eladrin nobles, human councillors and Efreet Merchant Princes, such is the volatile nature of the city that some houses that seem empty in the common realm are actually elemental or feywild dwellings in the extraplanar 'copies' of the city. However, Moonstair's most notable feature is its plethora of Avenger Academies, training these lethal divine assassins for superficial control over the rifts. Each night rooftop wars are common, with silent combat seeing the slates steeped in blood every morn. The ruling council of Moonstair keeps, or kept, the peace amongst the peoples of Sylvor until the rumours of the Grail became widespread, and now even they clamour to find it.
Also, on Gods, I'm using the 4e pantheon with the following exceptions.
Lolth, Tiamat, Bhamut, Ioun, Vecna, Melora and Bane are no more.
New deities, S'hiras Ahran (replacing Ioun and Vecna and patron god of Blood Magic), Balen (good god of crusading), Actalieus Val Shaea (God of Power/Energy, again somewhat replacing Ioun/Vecna).
As a consequence Drow are now a more common sight upon the surface, with no God they are turning back to the old ways (some of them, at least).

Yeah, it usually took me about an entire term to get back into the routine...and then it was holidays again!
Three should be fine, although I'm happy to take more players in should they be interested.
