We will Always Remember

We will always remember
We will never forget
Remember what it is to be American,
Remember what it is to be Free,
And...Remember the brave men and women
Who Fight and Die
To protect that freedom.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

God Bless The USA by Lee Greenwood

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I'd worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.

I'd thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can't take that away.

And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.

That I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

And I'm proud to be and American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

Song

That is an amazing song. One of my absolute favorite patriotic songs ever.

I would just like to point out two more that were specifically written for 9/11:

1. Have You Forgotten
2. Courtesy Of The Red White & Blue

My son included.

Yes, that is another good song.

TK: My oldest son was born 2 years prior. He turned 2 years old the day that happened. Today, 2011, he turned 12.

heartless as ever. i guess i could always pretend i have one....

i think i was eather 5 or 6 years old that day. i was at my grand-parents house watching tom&jerry (or was it bugs bunny) when i heard "oh my god" from the living room, i went out and asked what was wrong, i didnt get an explination so i looked at the tv (couldnt read yet) and saw what looked like a fountain at the time (of course i had been watching tv for 7 hours) so i just didnt know what to think of it and wemt back to watch some more cartoons. i guess i payed for it since i cant see further than i can reach. i would feel bad now ,but out of neccecity (and stupidity) i have shaped myself into a being who cannot feel true sadness.

and so goes another piece of my soul, wishing all the more i could cry for something other than physical pain which unfortunatly isnt much more than a 'oh, i got punched in the gut, oh well' now.
(you may now begin smiting me)
(or pitying me)

EDIT:heh i was just kidding about being heartless, but what a better way to get some smites than saying you are.
anyway i know 9-11 was pretty bad and we should mourn the people who died, but we should celebrate too. why? because we killed the guy who was behind it all and avenged those who were wrongly killed. whoever the terrorist were worshiping it defenatly wasnt a god, i should know because i know some muslim people and from what i heard about their allah (is that spelled right) thats not what he would have wanted. but enough religious talk were here to raise our flags and fire our guns in the name of freedom, our freedom to have said guns and wave said flags and then have your neighbors complain that your being to loud, for that is the american dream.

I wish...

i wish people would spend less time focusing on this. It was a giant cry for attention, and every time you talk about what happened, you are sending the message that terrorism works.

I don't remember it

I don't remember the event, but to be frank I don't think it was terrorists. Besides, life is meant to be celebrated not mourned. If you have to dwell on the past, dwell on the fact that you didn't consider what it was you could do even at a young age.

This was not meant to guilt you, just tell you that life is never what it seems even through lies told by higher ups.

while were on the subject

i kinda agree with K'ryll i mean it was bad and all, but you have to remember we resolved it.we gave it closure by showing that u dont **** with the USA and blow our $#!% up.that means however that we cant make as big of a deal out of it as we usually do. we shouldnt forget ,but thats all thats left to not forget what happened on 9-11. but hey if ive learned anything its that (unfortunatly) people will forget and it will happen again ,but only when that time comes will you have reason to complain.

Yeah...

I'm half American, so despite having lived in Canada my entire life, this touched on me, as well. Innate patriotism, in a way. I gave my moment to the deceased earlier today, but this has kind of been on my mind.
