Haven't seen one...

... hereabouts in quite a while, Takely.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that wen you get an entire troupe of CEs together, the PCs tend to kill each other off before the DM can throw the BBG at 'em?

If I stumble across any, I'll be sure to let you know.

I would rather incinerate entire towns or slaughter em in their sleep than the party anyway

well

I know of none. Alacrity's Orc game came close, but that didn't take off.

You can start one yourself though.

Well, as Eos said...

Chaotic evil characters rarely fight together for long. From an NPC standpoint, two chaotic evil villains or gods or what have you are more likely to betray one another, or even simply kill each other for fun or out of pride.

Some may pick on the weak, others fear and strike out at the percieved stronger. Other's simply desire endless carnage.

From the same alignment 'scale', though, Neutral Evil and Lawful Evil don't have the same problems. They will work together if there's something in it for them. And they can still be malicious, bloodthirsty or otherwise prone to rage.

haha

That helps, thanks.

So if I want an evil game on, I'd have to start it?

haha, strange idea, One chaotic good character in the middle of the party. Sounds interesting Eh!?

One CE per party

See 8-Bit Theater, OotS, Looking For Group, and probably many more webcomics.

All having a just about good, if unscrupulous, party... with one member very very evil indeed. In the first and third cases, a mage, and in the second, a ranger/barbarian.

Of course, these CE examples are stereotypical. "KIIIIIILL!"

For pony?

Yeah, who do you think would win in a fight between Richard and Belkar?

As for a CE group, you could always have some kind of enchantment preventing them from killing each other, perhaps amulets they couldn't take off or something...

how bout a CE who can't kill

The amulet is applied only to the CE and that makes it so he cannot kill anybody or anything. It would dive them crazy

CE who can't kill?

That would only drive them crazy if you'e playing a characiture rather than a real, believable, fleshed-out character. Yes, a person who randomly kills people left and right is CE, but there are plenty of ways to play CE that never kill and never feel a loss from it. There are also few D&D characters who aren't killers, and a prohibition against killing would be equally frustrating to pretty much any player in a D&D game, really. This is part of the reason why evil games never seem to work: people play evil as cartoon super-villains.

Evil people can have friendships and loyalties and families and fall in love just like anyone else. They have basically the same motivations as good characters, they're just more willing to do bad things to get what they want. In some cases, that means killing, but if you're playing D&D, you're already playing a mass-murderer who immediately resorts to "might-makes-right" in a conflict more than likely, no matter what your alignment is.

Hm

Amulet? Magic effect stopping a CE character from killing? See OotS ^^

But as Rystefn correctly says, the only thing saying that Chaotic Evil = Killing Spree is our own limited imagination.

Mix Chaos and Evil? You could simply get an Evil character prone to mood swings. Chaos doesn't mean rampage, it means quite literally... disorder.

true

but say this Ce was normally peaceful until he sees say a spider(arachnophobia). Then he or she goes into crazy-ultra-insane mode incinerating everything. But this is only brought on by seeing a spider. lets also say this Gm wasn't experienced at bringing out the characters own fears. If the said Gm randomly brought a spider creature like Shelgog in LOTR, they would do they're very best to destroy it. But if the said GM WAS experienced at bringing out the characters fears, it would go over board id he or she could not control themselves at bringing about the fears correct?

hmm

Chaotic any alignment is tough on a party. They tend to be out for themselves. I have sucessfully played a lawful evil character in a party. He believed the strong should have the power but he also believed a person's word was his bond. Law must prevail. Now, nothing stopped him from finding the loopholes in the laws. Think Captain Barbosa from the Pirates movies.

Erm

I don't think I totally understand what you're trying to say there...

From the sounds of things the idea of phobias and madness is another matter. Even an LG character can be scared of things.

... this whole conversation will inevitably lead to a discussion as to why alignments in the DnD format are limiting, via the mention of "paladins don't torture," and then the idea of DnD Good and Evil not necessarily being life choices but simply opposing factions.
Killing is bad. Evil.
Killing Evil? That's Good.

See the "faction" idea?

EDIT: Ninja'd.
It's not cheating if you play by the rules... even if said rules are in the Additional Rule Book tome 2453. ^^
