Where have all the Star Wars games gooooooone?

Let me start by saying: No. I will be starting a Star Wars game myself. No. This is just a request.... Well not even that actually. Just a foolish little post wondering what happened to all of the Star Wars games we used to have running.

I was scrolling and reading through the games and ended at the SW section when it hit me... An urge to play in the SW universe I didn't see coming. I've certainly had good moments playing in at least two such games before and am actually part of a table top version of one at the moment.

So should someone be considering running a SW game, I would be very interested in joining. It would be great fun to explore the galaxy here at the Inn again.

It's very cold.... in space

Raven! I would totally run a Star Wars game.... if only I knew what the heck was going on in that 'verse. If anything, I'd be running a Star Trek game because I'm a Trekker!

I have to admit something though....

...post-modern games kinda scare me. I'd be afraid that it wouldn't be cannon for my players, or that we'd be too busy looking up ship functions instead of rping. ^_^

If a SW game were to be run, any suggestions as to... er... timeline/location?

I blame Jar Jar

I wonder if it's the Phantom Menace effect? Some of the magic of the Star Wars universe had been dissipated somewhat with the crappy portrayals of Darth Vader as a snotty-nosed kid and then lovelorn teenager.

I always like to play in Star Wars games though, because the Universe is so large it gives everyone huge creative freedom.

Only most of my time...

The Old Republic is coming out however I won't have a computer to play it on until sometime after my birthday. (Yay grandma!) After that I have a feeling that I can still check the internet before and after I game. That's what I do with other games that involve the computer or my 360. Plus my roommate, and my best friend wouldn't let me disappear into it. The could both ask me how the next adventure was going at the same time, then I'd have to log off to get myself in motion.... or stay on and shoot ideas back and forth.

I'd love to join, and if anything we could always go for an era that has been mostly untouched.

yup

Like Ginafae said, the Star Wars galaxy is such a huge place and has such a long history that one doesn't really have to worry about George Lucas's stupid ideas. It's always possible to concentrate on the good ones or come up with something totally different.

I was so close to buying the Blu-ray versions of the episodes, but fortunately? I read a few reviews before I did. Why on earth does Vader have to keep on shouting that crappy "Noooooooo" of his again? The first time nearly ruined Episode 3 for me... or might have if I'd liked it in the first place.

SWTOR <3 Can't wait to get my hands on it. I'm just very worried my old PC isn't up to the task. I haven't checked the requirements yet, but I really really hope it doesn't ask for more than WoW does.

And Celeste, should you really wish to run a star wars game, you shouldn't worry about canon. Like said before in swrpg you can always decide what's canon and what's not. In my opinion the official and not-so official stuff can act as a very good source of information and background, but it's not necessary to stick to it 100%.

Ah, yes...

...I miss the Star Wars games that were run hereabouts...

Always did wonder what became of the crew in Olan's Tides of Fate game... Perhaps when I pick up SWTOR, I'll have to go all Miraluka, again, and see if I can't, at least, bring a bit of that 'Caise Jhorap' vibe back there.

Tides of Fate got off to a good start, it did. Gladly played that one longer I would have.
