The Resurrection; or Tek has returned
Hello to all, once again. As so frequently happens, after I wind up taking some time away from here, for whatever reason it may be, I wind up thinking about this place once again, and then start lurking a little bit, and then eventually wind up making a post on here.
The thing that’s been haunting me this time around is the abrupt ending that struck my last run at things. I had a 2e game running that people were enjoying. I had a plot that my players liked. I had a plot that I liked. And I had a good cast with me. An unfortunate turn of things in real life shut that down pretty hard on me. But, now that things have somewhat stabilized once again... I’m wondering if maybe a revival of A Single Stone... might be a manageable thing.
Players previously involved would, of course, have a spot in the roster once again. Any blanks that need filling would be open to application. I’m thinking of just bumping things along a touch, and dropping a “Since we last left off...” kind of catch up. Just to try to make things happen again...
So, whether you know me and my style, gamed with me before, or are simply looking to take part in some 2e fun... Any takers?

Who else has made a return? Aside from you, Celeste. Spotted your post indicating your surfacing, as well...

Just making sure you weren't an impostor. Now get your arse in chat so I can yell at you for making a 2e game when I've almost entirely forgotten how to play it.

One so far...
Nimu shall be returning. So, thusly, that makes one member. Got a second one keeping eyes on it, but uncommitted to rejoining at the moment.
So, progress, in any case.

Overcommited.
Sorry Tek but I will not be carrying on A single Stone.
I was really enjoying the adventure but because I thought it was fizzled I have joined another game and I am afraid I will not be able to find the time to respond actively to four different games.

Downer...
A shame you will not be returning, Brundel. Understandably, the dropping of things for the time would make it unreasonable to sit and hope for it to come back. In truth, I hadn't necessarily figured I'd be trying to resurrect this and start again.
If you find yourself with some time to commit with down the road, then let me know, and we'll see what we can't manage.
However, it pleases me to see that Desrik, played by Salvator Navaar, will be coming back. So that makes two returning members. We're on our way to round two here...

Determination
So, after getting the confirmation from a couple players, its become apparent that some recruiting will need to happen. Which means some plot detailing will be required. Which also means a bit of a catch-up, overview, and all that...
Thus, on my next day off, I'll draft up a recruiting page and see if we can't get a little interest going here. Plus, since things are being moved ahead just a little...those returning will be in need of a bit of information, as well..

A catch-up
Since we last parted ways...
Graffton was never known as a particularly thrilling town, either before or after the Unity took effect. The residence of grain farmers, and a stopover for travelers on the road to Cill Cerces, it was a simple home for those who preferred simple lives.
This sense of normalcy was broken on the twenty-fourth of Deysor, when a disheveled and hysterical woman calling herself Ellice arrived from the south, pleading for help in the wake of a bandit attack from which she was the only one to escape. Making her case to all who would listen, five strong souls emerged from the crowd to aid her; Bailox Steelbringer, Desrik Darraman, Elberon Tantharon, Adelror the Avenger, and Ja’aron Birch. Together, they accompanied the damsel to the site whereupon she and her kin had been assailed.
By combining their talents, the group was able to track and locate the bandits where they had arranged their camp, and together, fell upon them to bring justice upon the highwaymen and to free the captives, whom Ja’aron escorted back to Graffton while the others interrogated one of the bandits they’d managed to take prisoner. However, the information they were able to obtain was less than helpful, identifying them as nothing more than a group of thugs, and he was summarily executed by Adelror.
Somewhere during the ambush, Ellice had vanished without trace, which led to a number of wonderings as to who she truly might be. Without any answer to be had, they hit the road and made for Graffton.
Meanwhile, Ja’aron, also noticing the disappearance of Ellice, gathered information of his own, finding that the captives knew nothing of who this mysterious woman was. However, the man of the wilderness saw a sign in a lone hawk that appeared to be observing them from its high circlings before soaring off to the north. The type to see omens in natural occurrences, the Druid took this to mean that they were walking a path to something greater.
Back in Graffton, a wandering half-breed elf arrived, her wanderings across this newly united land of Brandost bringing her to this farm town. Ever seeking allies for what her order saw to be the approach of a long-lasting night, Seluume caught wind of a group of brave men who selflessly went to the aid of a woman they did not know, thus marking the potential for those who could stand tall for the many, rather than merely the few.
In two groups, the rescuers returned to Graffton, bringing both the freed travelers, and word that the bandits had been properly dealt with. A bit worse for wear, but alive, they were heralded as heroes by the townsfolk, and greeted as such for their bravery with a celebration the following night at the Grasscat...
******
And thus, we may resume again.
Since we’ve only got two returning names to this for the here and now, that means a couple newcomers will be needed to pick this up again. I’m thinking anywhere between two to four would make a nice sized group. So, a little information here...
-Second edition, and second level. Easy to remember.
-Setting is my own, Baelenoa. So, gods, races, etc. Findable in the Q/A.
-I tend to shoot for more a realistic game than a by-the-book game. Meaning, whether its a goblin or an ogre ramming a spear into you, it still hurts. And I make sure you know it.
-Since I try to make a realistic setting, I like when realistic characters are made up. That’s just me being a stickler for things, but when players put in, I generally put more in, and we all win.
That’s about it for now, I do believe... Anyone who may be interested, post here for now, or shoot me a PM. Questions, of course, will be answered as soon as possible.
