Excitement is overrated, yeah?

Gonna be honest, just venting here.

Spent thirty minutes of my day fighting a moderate sized yard fire that broke out. Just me and my step dad running third's of a bucket of water all over our rather sizable backyard until the fire department got there. Thirds of a bucket because our water pressure is such that they didn't fill faster than that.

Lost over half the yard, some patio furniture, a few plastics we had out there. Very thankful it wasn't worse, but still shaken up. Not my first bad experience with a fire.

Thankfully the local fire department is well trained an efficient. Once we saw it was out of control and called them, they responded in less than ten minutes, and it only took about that long after their arrival to have the medium sized blaze well and truly out.

Everyone is safe, thanks to those men, and we didn't lose anything that can't be replaced. But I am wired for sound right now. Can't get settled y'know? Running back and forth, unable to do much but slightly slow the s60 degree spread, breathing in all the smoke and watching my yard turn black.... it was a rough day.

When life gives you fire . . . roast some chestnuts?

Glad you are ok and all that was lost was some yard and yard furniture. Relax and try to enjoy the holiday.
