An idea concerning updating chat, at no expense
So just a quick though, before i head to work for 12 hours. As I was sitting here skimming through the forums, sipping my be- coffee, It occurred to me to bring up Discord to you all.
It is free to use, free to host a server, and very user friendly once you take a couple minutes to push some buttons and see what they do. in a few short months it has invaded every game that I play and I can honestly say it is a welcome change to classic IRC, as well as TeamSpeak, Ventrilo, ect.
For ease, I am including an invite link to my personal server, so you all might sample it with just a click.
No one else goes there, so you wont interrupt anything, and creating your own server is pretty darn simple.
Anyways, I just think I would personally love to see a Red Dragon Inn Discord channel, and it would be great for activity.
So here is the Link, https://discord.gg/2VsstvX on mobiles, it requires an app i believe, but its not a large download. on PC, you can just enter, and I havent actually found a reason to download it aside from some things to do with the voice chat options.
Anyways, just tossing that out there, have a good day!

Discord quite good
I'm in an online group D&D game with Odyson and though we use the Roll20 site for the game maps, character sheets, and so on we use Discord to talk. We found that after various problems with mic's, headsets, and such that Discord was the much better com system then Roll20's. Now we have little to no problems all of us longing in to chat and game.
Of course except Ody, his hook-up is older then he is and he is in his 60's so go figure

voice chat
I wont lie, i mostly ignore the voice chat. but with the ability to see post history and the like even though you were logged off, the text xhat is what impresses me. its like the perfect combination of forum PBP and IRC play speed. (Also half posted this cuz figure hey, someone might run a discord server for a game and i could weasel an invite.) But internet connection too slow for decipherable voice chat on my end.
