Silent Pluto, stardate 2364.10.20
"Have you heard?" Tina whispered, "Kale's discovery?"
The woman beside her chuckled, retrieving her filled cup from the replicator, "Who hasn't at this point?"
"Well, what do you think, ma'am?" Tina asked, putting her own cup in the recepticle, "Coffee, two sugar."
"I understand that we are both a listening post as well as a research station. It's premature to make any conclusions at this point," Lt. Ari replied.
"Come on, don't tell me you also think it might just be a new civilization reaching warp technology," Tina groaned, "Kale told me the readings are similar but don't match any known warp technology."
"I did not say that," Lt. Ari quickly added, "But for the record, yes, I do hope that is what it is. Or a sensor glitch. Egil's research, on the other hand, we might be able to use that to improve warp core stability. Not by much, granted, but it all helps."
As Tina rolled her eyes, a tremor shook the station, knocking the two off their feet. They did not hit the ground. The lights flashed red.
Struggling with the lack of gravity, Lt. Ari tapped her com, =/\=Ari to command center, what the hell was that?!=/\=
=/\=Massive damage! Hull breach floors 6 through 17! No response from engineering! Artificial gravity and most systems offline!=/\=
"Ma'am!" Tina called from where she had floated, near the window.
Pushing off of the wall with her feet, Lt. Ari moved to the window as well, her eyes widening in disbelief.
"Wh-what is that!?"
