Venom

Ignore what the critics and hardcore fanboys say about this one, folks! Venom was a fun and surprisingly funny movie.

Yes, it takes Venom out of the Spiderman universe and throws away the whole "the-symbiote came back to Earth from Battleworld as Peter Parker's new, black suit" thing. Yes, it takes Eddie Brock out of New York and moves him to San Francisco. And, yes, the plot was kind of thin in places buuuuuuuuuuuut still a very enjoyable action/comedy/superhero flick. They could have tacked another hour on and I'd have sat right there and watched it!!!

I'm hoping it makes enough that they get to try, at least, one sequel... The mid-credits scene sets up a fantastic antagonist for one, IMO.

There... my two cents... spoiler free. Go. See. Enjoy!

WE ARE VENOM

That's good to hear! I wasn't really expecting too many great things from this movie, but I love Tom Hardy and I was just hoping it would deliver on all the weird ridiculousness the trailers offered.

Thanks for the rec, I'm no longer on the fence to go see it!

Oh, YEAH...

Tom Hardy was perfect as Eddie... Of course, I'm a huge fan of his work, myself, sooooo... Grain of salt and all that.

Aaaaand watching the credits as we speak! That was every bit as ridiculous as I hoped and way more goofy than I was expecting, which I'm happy about. I don't know much about the comics but Venom was way more funny than I expected.

Also Eol, the mid credit scene was cool. Did you see the post-credits? They're also great
