Yuuuuuuuup!!!

Looking forward to watching this and hoping it does the books justice.

Really wish they'd give a release date, though! I keep looking but haven't seen anything other than "Fall of 2019."

Speaking of the books, I might need to go and find them, again... Get, at least, Blood of Elves read before the show hits.

New Trailer

And release date of December 20th on Netflix

Looking forward to it and like you Eol I hope it does the books justice, though the new trailer looks like it will.

If the show is as perfect as that man's gravely ass voice, I am ready!

Haha, in all honesty, I hope it does well! Visually it looks incredible, just hoping the writing and pacing align.

See you December 20th!

Just caught the new trailer, actually!

It certainly gives me hope!

Not to wish the time away but, now, I'm excited for December 20th to get here!

Just finished the first episode. I'm not disappointed.

The fight choreography is amazing and I much prefer Henry Cavill as Geralt as opposed to Superman.

I'm three episodes in. I give everything three episodes. Not sure about this one. The nudity is completely unnecessary. It also is cheesy in areas. I don't know if I like it.

Only two episodes in...

..but haven't seen/noticed too much nudity as yet.

I am a tad disappointed at their rendering of the sylvan, though.

Edit: Okay... having made it through episode 3, yeah, I can see where that bit of nudity was unnecessary... Up until that point the only nudity I had even noticed was the illusory ladies in Stregobor's tower. And, yes, it is a bit cheesy in parts but it'd be seriously dark otherwise. Still enjoying it.

I'm of the mind that any nudity is too much. Anyway, I've pressed on and I must be missing something. I'm trying to like it but it is very shallow.

Okay, I watched the whole season. Here's my critique.

Rating: 2/5

Character Development: 2/5

Storyline: 2/5

Acting: 3/5

CG: 1/5

They could have done without the language and nudity... I mean, entirely. It added nothing to the story. The way they told the tale was a bit convoluted. It would have been better told in a linear timeline. I wanted to like the Witcher. Didn't. His character was lackluster. The Bard? A complete twit. Jenifer? I wanted her removed from the story altogether. The Princess? Didn't see anything redeeming about her either. The Lioness? Complete and utter fool. The end of the season? Abrupt and not the least bit compelling.

Seriously, folks. I wanted to like the show. I even watched the whole season when I normally only give shows three episodes.

I was a tad more generous

Overall Rating: 3/5

Character Development: 2/5

Storyline: 3/5

CG: 2/5

"The way they told the tale was a bit convoluted. It would have been better told in a linear timeline."

Totally agree with you on that point, Brom. I found myself scratching my head more than once and going "Wait, I thought he/she was dead?" Even if they had added a "timestamp" blurb on some scenes in order to clue you in to the fact that "this happened earlier," it might have helped.

Honestly, though, I didn't expect much going in... Translation from book to screen (or video game to screen) is always a hard trick to pull off properly, IMO, and I can think of only a few properties that have done it really well. Overall, I enjoyed it for what it was.

How about that abrupt ending? Did they run out of money?

Abrupt ending

Yeah... not a big fan of when shows do that but, as Tann said, I figured it was just setting up for S2. I've almost come to expect endings like that from shows, these days... especially those on streaming platforms.
