Dragon Lance Movie

I just watched the trailer for the Dragon Lance Movie, and I can't remember the last time I was this disappointed!

When I first heard they were going to make a movie from the novels, I was thrilled.

When I heard it was going to be an animated movie, I was still hopefull.

After seeing this trailer, I don't even think I'm going to bother watching it. Even though this is not the final trailer, I don't believe it can get any better....

see for yourself:

oooookkkk...

Can..someone.PLEASE.tell.me...
What the hell was that???
It's like old He-man animation mixed with some new CG...Tiamat looks cool, but all in all it's something I'd rent from the 99cent kids section at movie gallery... Not spend 10$ to see in theatre...

So..so disappointed.

I must say...

It sucked. Didn't even bother watching the whole thing. Seriously, if you are gonna make a movie based on some best selling novels, you can at least avoid making it look this crappy.

The coloring might be slightly better than He-Man, but seriously, the animation looks just as bad. And He-Man was 20 years ago. It is called IMPROVEMENT! You really should try it.

sadf

You know...I think I could have done that animation.

That's pathetic, honestly.

Oh dear

I just saw it and I have to agree. It was terrible. It reminded me of the animation of the old Lotr cartoon, which wasn't great simply because they ran out of money. I wonder if that was the case here too.

I Disagree with all

I watched the Dragonlance movie tonight and I have to say I liked it as it stayed very close to the 1st book and the movie's ending left it open for the next two books in the series.
I do have to say I wish it would have been live action but as the Dragonlance trilogy was the second series of novels(After LOTR) that I read that got me into AD&D and awakened my love of the Fantasy Genre the movie was ok by me.

Little known fact my avatar name Tann'Talas is a combination of Tanis's human and Elvin names as he was my favorite character with Kitiara a close second.

.

In my opinion, I'm sure that the story and the characters all very awsome, it just erks me that they mixed two types of animation. That just calls for bad reviews. especially with those horrible cheap CG's

hmm

Even if the Dragonlance movie has nothing to with the previous attempts of making dnd-movies, I'm still going to skip it because of them. DnD the Movie and Wrath of the Dragon God (was it?) sucked big time. The first one even more than the second in my opinion.

Am I being fair here? No, not really. But since I have too little time to see movies these days anyway, I won't be wasting the few precious chances I have on films like Dragonlance... However good it may be.

Not that it will ever come to any of the theaters in our tiny city anyway.

Im watching it now!

we rented it at blockbuster and decided to keep it! the graphics is a lot better than the old hobbit video we have, if you read the book, it sticks to the story well! I can't wait to see the new Drizzt DoUrden forgotten realms movie to come out!!!!

hmmmm

I don't really think there will be a FR movie sometime soon. And with the current developments in that setting (read the survery on 4th edition FR), a movie about it would no longer bring a big audience to theaters.

also, less and less people are interested in Drizzt as well, actually. So chances for such a movie are very low.

urk

Well.

Hm.

I have nothing good to say, so I think I'll keep it to myself.

I'm just glad I wasn't involved in that.
