I was wondering who was your first character and what kind of character was he?

My first character was a 2nd edition elf named Bluetree. He was a pompous prick, his father was a wealthy well to do merchant and he thought you could buy anything with money. He also thought he was the gods gift to women.

The first character I created was Michael the Road Warrior, a 1st level Fighter for the Basic Dungeons and Dragons game.

This was back in 1984. The Basic set was a paperback booklet (with a red cover), that came with the excellent module, Keep on the Borderlands.

I was about 18 at the time, just finished high school, and was thinking of either going into the military or going to college.

Okay, so I wasn't very imaginative back then.

My second character was a Hobbit...

Named Merridoc.

I switched to being the DM shortly after that, and never looked back.

Oh, first character.


My first character ever...well...uh...

Oddly enough, it was a female elf cleric whose name I fail to remember. I chose the sea deity and insisted on wearing no armor and fighting using a net and trident at first level. I also for some reason had a throwing/returning shield. 18 Cha, 12 Wis. Best support character...ever.

Back in "76, the begining of star Wars saga, my first character was for a Traveller game. Can't remember much more but I was poor and had difficulty geting jobs as I was a female. Can't remember much more of her. Found my forte in D&D later though with tne same group who played Traveller. THey introdused me to D&D and the Fantasy genre--My love. Of course I played an elf, female, I think she was a fighter. Like the bow and to stand off and hit the enemy from a distance. Likeed the open places and not dungeon crawls. Still do. Loved well developed campaign worlds where I am free to move around and interact with realistic NPC's andplayers too.

The first character i can really remember was actually a Warewolf i played with Skari..

Wow that was a long time ago was hard to figure out good thing I date them(no idea why though even seems strange to me). It seems it was a dwarf I have named Bad Ax. He was a strange one he had a pony that didnt obey him in anything. He had no sense of taste so to eat and drink he carried a barrel of pickled fish and a barrel of ale on his back. He was fun till his horrible death fighting a stone statue of himself. They both fell down a hole and statue was destroyed and he died. It taught me one thing you have to watch where you are moving when hand-to-hand combat with yourself.

P.S. Another thing I learned never accept mysterious statues you find of of yourself in a dungeon or touch them.

My first character was Vanadia Darkshadow, a human thief of questionable parentage and murky beginnings. She was a cocky smart aleck with a dislike for nobles, rules and had her own views on personal property. Her favourite "trick" was to move through a crowd to a table in a tavern/inn, pickpocketing enough coin on the way to pay for her meal.

She adventured with an elven cavalier named Gallirian (the Great, the Good, the Gaudy) and an elven fighter mage named Rune. The long running joke was that since the thief would end up with everyone's gold anyway, she may as well get it up front, and Vanadia became the negotiator for the group.

At that time in my life, I was an internal auditor, and had to work with a great deal of discretion, observance of company rules, accounting principles and rules of evidence (I investigated internal fraud), so it was very liberating to play the exact opposite type of person in D&D

Alacrity was our DM, and the Diamond Corps (as the three of us plus an NPC or two were eventually known as) was immortalized here at the Inn by Yanamari:

I think i was about 12 and it was a 3.5 ed game.

It was one of the base characters is well his name was Tordek he was a Dwarf fighter He was a dwarven defender/ fighter. He reached Level 17 and was defending a large town from a lich king.

He never actually died but the game never finished.

My favourite part of the character was the constant fighting between him and an Elven Druid.

Oddly enough, I can't remember a single PC that I have actually created and played, except for Grim which I made two or three months ago.

The first character I ever played was in the old Vampire the Masquerade. I played a former lawyer turned vampire. I called him the top of the evil ladder because of it. I only played him for one session, because his ward had ended up in a hospital and he left to look after her. It was my first real taste of roleplay.

First ever Adnd Character was an elf named Goldin, who of course was the only survivor of an orc raid. I made a background for the character, because my DM read that this was a good thing to do to enhance role-playing.

Before this we played a Dutch game (originally German but translated into dutch) called Oog des Meesters, which translates into Eye of the Master. It was a similar kind of game, but I can't remember any special characters I played in it. Probably because I didn't make them myself.

I started from the box-set so my first was that elven wizard that I can't remember the name of, she was killed within 3 rounds of play by a goblin with a javelin

The first I created was called Hovise and he was a human druid. But I'm not playing him as he got boring after level 12.

1986, a half elf ranger named Allyn. Started at 1st level and made it to lvl 15. Lately I seem to have gone to playing clerics more than any other class; some as almost fighters and others as feeble spell casters only.

My first character was an elf fighter named Como. He never officially died; we just phased that "round" of characters out in favor of more highly developed one's: thus, the second character.

The guy who introduced me to D&D and I still get together and role-play every two weeks for about six to eight hours a pop. Not bad after twenty-one years if you ask me. Even though I no longer can stand the rules for D&D and we play a fused version of 3.5 and FUZION I developed, we still have those "second round" characters; albeit altered for the new system.

Mine was Bromern Sal who started out as an assassin, then studied magic out of necessity as plenty of people began to hunt him down. He eventually began practicing piracy (believe it or not as captain of a ship that could submerge upon command, was crewed by the undead, and couldn't be sunk thanks to an artifact he found), and then world-hopped from Greyhawk to The Forgotten Realms in order to escape some very powerful people hunting him. In the new world, he teamed up with a fighter type who trained him in the ways of direct combat in exchange for thievery, thus making him a triple class with a prestige class. Once the Immortal rulebook came of--well, he was on that path. And though he came close, I redirected him when we switched to 3.0.

His focus changed then as well, as he'd redeveloped his reputation as the best assassin ever to have lived, and then he became enamored by an Elgin bladesinger and bodyguard to the elf queen. He courted her while magically disguising himself as an elf and was only forced to leave her side when their half-breed son was born. Her values infected him, and he began to seek ways to do good, though his methods were perverse due to his past life and ideologies.

Long story short, the character has been in existence for roughly twenty-one years, almost achieved immortality in a rule system that placed immortals higher on the food chain than gods, picked up more classes and prestige classes than should be legal (as well as levels), and only after switching to my knew system has he become remotely playable again after... Oh, fifteen years, or so.

None-the-less, my second character ever created, and my all time favorite despite adolescent power grabs and rediculous rules that allow munchkinism. He's got a sordid enough history that I've been working it into novel format for some time now, and my best friend's mother used to look at the sketches I'd make of him and ask for special drawings...I know, if was complimentary and a little odd at the same time.

I've even brought him to Audalis a time or two.
