Random Acts of kindness

Hello Innmates

In this grand new year I have resolved to bestow upon my fellow human beings random acts of kindness.

I'd like to challenge you to follow suit. Once a week, do something nice for someone you don't know. For instance, today at lunch at the McDonald's drive thru, I paid for the person in line behind me. I'm not telling you this cuz I want to be 'praised', I'm telling you because I think we could all use more kindness in our lives and I believe that if we give kindness, we will recieve kindness

So, the challenge has been put forth. If you decide to accept, please post your act here. It will not only make us feel better about people in general but also give us ideas on unique ways to be kind to each other.

Happy New Year!

Hmm

I helped my friend move... from a second story apartment to another second story apartment and didn't ask for gas money for my truck. And he had some heavy stuff too

Yes

Yes .. and I think that just general kindness all around is very important too. If everyone presented kindness in their life on a daily basis the world would be a much better place.

very nice Ad

I'll remember you when I get ready to move

Doing nice things for friends is easy though. (well unless it's moving heavy furniture) hee hee...but doing something for someone you don't know catches them off guard. It's unexpected, completely random and will be the topic of their next conversation which will then spread the kind act even further.

hmmm

I took four homeless people out for lunch; sorta collected them along the way, and instead of giving money they can put towards drugs or alcohol, a sandwhich, some soup and coffee was much more helpful I think.

Uh

I'll have to get on that.

I did take out my buddies trash. But that's because he's letting me live at his place. So I don't know if that counts.

He's nice for feeding me though!

You say ARK

I say RAK...it's all the same thing

They are best done for strangers but whoever you bestow kindness upon is sure to appreciate it

Random Acts of kindness

I don't have any kind stories of my own to tell. Not saying that I haven't done any but that I have another story. This one proves that simply smiling at someone can change the course of someones life.

I was in my history class Junior year of high school and the teacher had witness one too many acts of cruelty and decided to tell us this.

In San Francisco, CA there was a man who had had a very bad monday. His car got towed, girlfriend cheated on him with his best friend, and got fired. He wrote a suicide note stating that if one person smiled at him as he walked to the golden gate bridge to jump he would turn around and walk back home. Needless to say the story doesn't end well.

As depressing as this story is I would like to think that the person behind you at McDonalds may have had a very bad monday and you brightened his or her day. Even if they were a little confused. (:

Uhm

I would do this but..

Sadly acts of kindness from me are followed by a horrifying allergic response.. Its really messy.. Almost as bad as what i get when i enter churches..

don't be frightened Gerald

the initial pain soon diminishes and you're left with soft glowing skin

damn it

Andri, I know for a fact that you are not as 'evil' as you claim to be and I know for a fact that you are too bright to be even close to being as 'evil' as you claim to be.

That being said, I'd like to mention the random act of kindness my father did when he gave Gerald his driver's license. Pure act of kindness, Andri. Pure act of kindness!
