Suggest tools for the Inn!
Some of our most popular pages of the site, hands downs, are our dice roller and town generator. In general our online gaming utilities seem to be pretty popular.
Do any of you have ideas for other utilities we could implement?

Die rolls
Is there any way to make a thread that you could "roll into" but then once you posted the roll it could not be edited. I'm trying to think of a way to be able to have rolls for games that eliminates cheating of any kind. For now the best I can think of is to have them roll in dragonchat and have a witness verify it. If there was an uneditible thread where rolls could be input into it and it would post your rolls .. that would be totally awesome!
Just like the current die roller .. but it would send the results to a thread that could not be edited. Also could you add a title that you could input to the die roller so you could put in "Search" or "Arena Attack Roll" etc.

good ideas!
This is why I love this community.
I have actually been thinking about a name generator. We offer the everchanging book of names as a download, but you have to purchase extra "chapters" for it.
I would, of course, probably start with names that work best with the Audalis setting, but would be open to expanding into as many area as the innmates would like (or would like to help with).
As for posting dice rolls into threads? hrm. I can see the usefulness, but I'll need to ponder the technical feasibility of it.

Daycare!
We need to keep up with the baby boom here at the Inn. Hard to have a drink or schedule a hot tub session with the wee ones underfoot.
Ok, so maybe I've caught a touch of Olan's silly bug

yes, name generator
the name generator is a good one. And while we're at it:
a tavern generator, with the name, owners, dishes and prices? We could make it a joint effort to come up with all of those

I was thinking the name generator could be a joint effort, too.

Our Posts
Do our posts use basic HTML? I was trying to set up a random number generator . but I fear that there is no such thing for HTML. If this is Javascript or something though I think there is a way. So anyways .. is there a way to post a random roll in a post using some code?

I could use a hammer
I would love to see a Wandering Monster generator. One where you type in the level of your party, haw many members and their levels. Then it will create a grouping of monsters suitable to that party.
"Hi. We're Wandering Monsters. let's fight!"

Ideas for tools.
A Name Generator is a great idea, Elven, Dwarf, Human names, etc. There are a lot of lists out there already with names in them for various races. I gound seveal elven name generators. Perhaps links to those will help as well.
Dice Roller. RPOL.net has a dice roller accessable seperately for each game. Only members of that game can make or had there their rolls recorded there all rolls are posted there for DM to verify, they cannot be edited by anyone. Tt also has a capability for secret rolls, result are only seen by the Dm/moderator and person making the secret roll. (Secret rolls are posted in same list as others but only readable by those two parties) In the meantime Devalaro you can do all the rolling yourself. Players just post what they are going to do and you roll results. IF it is for a game their is a great Dm Program DM genie taht lets you run a whole battle with a push of one putton. you can Put PC in it and make NPC too. also heeps characters updated as well.
ANother usefull generator is a trait generatoe. List of personality traits a person might have. they could be divided up into good, traits, nuetral traits and bad traits. LEt me tell you their are a ton of them. I made one up for another systen and have over five hundred listed though they are not broiken inot good, nuetral or bad yet.
WHich reminds me RPOL. had that same (private message capability that can be used by players and DM for secret information right in the regular post themselves. So I could make a post to all and a secret post in that same post that only certain parties in on the secret could know. That way Dm can post a knowledge reult or of spot result right in the post to a player withoug anyone else seeing it and without having to make a second private post outseide the game. Actually players can send other players private messages in the posts too without anyone else knowing.

nice ideas, all...
I will probably start another thread for the discussion of a name generator.
After that, I think that the monster table is not only doable, but useful!
Moria - all three of your ideas are interesting, but I'd need more info. Do post again.

wandering monster strength
I would think a good formula for monster vs party is that wandering monster levels should be equal to party combined level plus number of people in the party.
Or is the combined level plus appendages?

Character Generator
I remember that the site used to have a generator for second edition characters, but that was a long time ago. Maybe a refreshed 3.5 ed character generator might not be too tall an order? It goes along well with name generator after all.
