What did we do??
What happened to those "potions of life" we found in the Wizard's Tower? We maybe should have drank those things... or at least examined them some more.
Here's what I think... this old guy is the wizard from long ago. He somehow managed to turn himself into a man-lizard through magic/experimentation (i.e. jelly fish back at the wizard tower, Almerin saying something about these jelly fish... forget exactly what, wizard's note about "the ritual"), not exactly sure why he did this yet, though. Maybe to protect the villagers? Also, not sure if the rest of the man-lizards are natural or also created by the wizard's magic.
The elder man-lizard seems to want to tell us more, but like the innkeeper seems afraid of the others around him.... interesting...
Anyway, some thoughts... I'm working on a post...

Hehe
YES!!! I'm so proud of you guys for figuring that one out! Very good Ayrn! I would give you 400 XP for guessing that one, but we're almost done with this adventure, so there's really no use
Anyway... update is in. You guys have to figure out what to do with all the information you've been given, and what your next action will be.
And I updated the map of the lizards' lair:

What's next?
To be completely honest, I'm not really sure what to do next. Some thoughts:
1) If we could restore the the woman back to this god, maybe that would appease him. Except I'm not sure where she is. If we did, maybe the potions of life would work? Not sure.
2) The elder lizard/ wizard keeps say "He is listening" like the god is near by and listening in. Where is he? Part of me thinks its the sea-druid we met earlier, but I'm not sure. I feel like the sea-druid has a greater part in this story still, but again, not sure. Maybe we need to talk with him some more... or kick the crap out of him.
3) Moving the villagers away also does not seem to be an option. The elder lizard/ wizard said that would destroy them all. Interesting... this symbiotic relationship between the villagers and man-lizards.
4) This feud in the village between the two families, is this tied to the blacksmith and father who were killed in the fire? I suspect that the other man-lizards are the offspring of the two feuding families. Perhaps if we could get them to make peace?!? Really not sure about this?
5) So... how do we appease the eternal wrath of a sea god? Argh! Brain cramp!
Well... those are my thoughts. Help!
Anyway, I'm away until Sept 3, maybe Sept 8 before I can post. Please feel free to move Driscoll along with you. I don't think we're going to get anymore in the man-lizards habitat.
Here's to hoping you two solve this riddle before I return!

answer(s)
Hey guys,
I'm normally not one to interfere like his, but I would like to help you out a bit with some answers:
1 ) the potion of life is nothing more than a healing potion (CLW). That won't do any good, IF you were able to locate where the remains of the woman are.
4 ) the other lizardmen are offspring of the old family feudies (or however you want to call them). As you observe it now, they are all living very peacefully and quite happily.
5 ) good question. You could try to give HIM a braincramp?
Hope this is somewhat helpful.

ehh
Hey Guys,
It's been a few days since my last update. I was hoping to complete this adventure some time soon, and with the rate things were going lately that was likely to happen. This silence doesn't really help though. If you guys don't know what to do, at least move out of the lizards' lair. Indecision doesn't get us anywhere.

Well... it would have made for a good story...
Sorry, Brianna and DM. My guess was wrong... would have been an epic finish though... just saying...
Anyway, I'm away until Sept 8. I'm not sure what to ask him yet. Maybe... "What's the worse this long dead god can do?" or "Why you hanging around here then?" ... and don't take any "Ah, just going for a stroll" garbage.
This "syl" has something to do with the big picture. He ain't natural-like. And he's watching over things here. Why?
Argh! Blast you, Almerin and your brain-cramping riddles!

Interesting turn of events!?!
Maybe Driscoll will get his epic finish yet?!
The sea-druid's latest reply was completely not what I expected. "Yeah, I got some water-breathin' potions right here... but I'm neutral."
Not sure if killing the God of the Currents is our solution either. If the bloke's able to put the thumb-screws on Cardista to stop her from meddling, surely he will notice us coming and destroy us long before we even come close.
I think we're still missing/overlooking something, and that this syl-druid-thingie is somehow more involved in the big picture.
1) The lizard wizard said something that stood out to me... "He isss lisstening." Who is "he"? The God of the Currents? If so, why is the sea-druid not afraid of being overheard?
2) If this sea-druid is so neutral, why is he watching over this well, the man-lizards and the villagers? I still don't get this.
Anyway... just some of my thoughts. DM? Brianna? Any ideas or thoughts about this riddle?

hehe
That last remark was more a way of your DM to push you in some kind of direction.
And assuming you've asked the Druid why he hangs around the village and stuff: he replies that these lands are his home. He has been living there for a long time, watching over the sea-life, the ecosystems in the dunes, and the village in the way he thinks is best. He has pushed many adventurers away from meddling in the affairs of the village out of fear that they would simply kill the lizardmen and thus destroy everything. He would've stopped you from entering the well if he had been present at the time you went in.
Another guess you can make is that Cardista put him here so he can find the right people to end this problem.
Another guess could be that everything he is telling you is a lie.
And, assuming you've asked him the first question as well: he replies that Iyaldar the lizardwizard has a much more direct link to Gubulondil's conscious, being a high priest and all. Gubulondil isn't all knowing, but he knows much. The druid is not afraid to speak out loud because he follows the path of Cardista. He explains that part of Gubulondil is watching the village at all time. He also knows that many, many other parts are probably involved with other things like management of the currents and most likely a few other chaotic schemes.
I hope this helps a bit.

hey
"You and I care, but is Gubulondil evil because he is angry? Would we not kill a mosquittoe if it kept us awake all night? What would we do with the same mosquittoe if it took our favored weapon, hypothetically speaking of course."
...that's where he said it. Somewhere in his rant on Gods and good and evil.

Thanks...
Yep... I see it now. Hmmm... well, ladies, where do we go from here? I think there's more to the sea-syl, but I'm not sure how to get at it yet, beyond just stabbing him. lol
Grrr... any thoughts, Dragon Mistress or Brianna?

Alright... for real, though... what are we doing?
Brianna, not sure if you're out of the hospital. I hope so! And, more so, that the infection, if not completely healed, in now under control.
With that in mind (and with no real pressure), I think we need to have a little player OOC chat about where we are going with this game.
Dragon Mistress, do you believe that going after the sword in an effort to bring it to bear on this minor sea-god is the direction we ought to go? Or is Tami's suggestion based more on role-playing (Tami being keenly interested in getting her hands on this sword of light and all)?
Because I personally think it is a recipe for TPK. There's just no way we can expect our 4 character party to defeat a tribe of Kuo-Tau with them having home court advantage. Our characters will be decimated, in my opinion.
Beyond that, there's still the god to deal with after that. Also a TPK action, in my opinion.
OOC, Almerin has also hinted at the fact that this story is nearly finished. A plot to retreive a sword and kill a god does not seem to me to be "nearly finished" and seems beyond our characters' level.
IC, Driscoll will be strongly against going after the sword, if the sea-syl is telling the truth, and it really is in the possession of this Kuo-Tau tribe.
We're missing something still. Something so simple I think... or at least something that is staring us right in the face. We're just not connecting the dots yet.
Anyway, I'm really interested in hearing your guys' OOC thoughts on this game. Hit me back!

ok
Good idea, Ayrn.
But first: What? Brianna is in the hospital and I don't know about it? Keep me informed, please. I care about you guys, and I'd like to know if major things happen.
Now, topic-related. I will help you out a bit, before you start ruling out certain options. In the past conversation, which was long and contained lots of information, the druid named a lot of details about Gubulondil. One particular thing, which I should emphasise right now, is the fact that he grows old, and then young again. This has been said earlier in the game, when Ayrn examined the species found in the Wizard's tower. Now I know that facing a God seems like a challenge unfit for this level, but considering the circumstances, I believe it is your best one.
As for the sword... I can't say much else but: give it a try.
I don't like pointing people so obviously into a direction, but I suppose my freedom of choice has struck home with you all a bit too hard, and that's a good thing. Still, that's a way to solve this. And believe me: it won't take too long either. I planned this as a short game, and that's what it was always meant to be.

Interesting...
Well, that was NOT what I expected you to say, Almerin. Cool!
Hmmm, well, in that case, I suppose a little restocking and info gathering might be good. Perhaps we can return to the village, see if any of the fishermen have caught sight of these Kuo-tau, and maybe charter ourselves a boat cruise to somewhere close to their location.
Sound good? Other ideas?

Isilmiri andTamuril
Jeanne is still in the hospital--they had to amputate he leg below the knee--bummer. Anyway she is doing well--all things considered--and I finally got her, her laptop. That said on to other things.
My feeling and they are at the root of Tamuril's feelings are that the sword is important, given the wizards own warnings about it. Leaving it in the hands of the Kua-Toa is wrong. Can it be used on Gibilondil--I am not sure? Though I have a feeling that without it any confrontation with Gubulondil would be lost before it started.
Tamuril was working on the premise that it might be possible to catch Gubulondil and his youngest and weakest. Understand that is a lot of ifs and we have little way of knowning what phase of life he is in other than checking with Cardista herself and asking her.
So, the Sword is a yes in Tamuril's mind and maybe we can just sneak in and take it, perhaps we can get the old wizard to put ivisibility on us so we can get in unseen. I am sure that the Kuop-Toa are not friendly to the Lizard folk so he might help us in that endeavor.
