Escaping Elves
The Elves are escaping to the east - is that towards the ruins or back towards the town?
To the group- we don't really care about the elves escaping, do we? The goal was to save them and we have (or hopefully will soon) done that. If we need one to talk to we have that in the one Doc is saving. I would say ignore them beyond watching where they go and get on with things. The only issue I see is if they cause the crazy lady trouble when we get back. Spells and all.

The elves are not an overly big concern to me. I doubt that they will actually survive on their own once they have fled from the group. Our group seemed much more capable of dealing with the zombies than all of them. I would have liked to have gotten them on our side, at least for a little while, and add a bit of firepower, but I don't believe we should go out of our way to get them.

Elves
Until now the elves were only a concern because some members felt obligated to save them. Now that they have seen Morrigu use magic they have become a liability. Not sure we can afford to chance them tattling on us to the Templars.

ruins are to the west so they would be fleeing back to town, I believe it took something around 3 days for you guys to get there so if they do manage to escape, they'd need enough survival days to get away and survive. It's a gamble whether or not they templars would find out.
edit:
@nomad: The corpses do not appear to be moving and the elf who was bitten is just standing still, I know you've been mentioning you keeping an eye on that and i just want to say it clearly, nothing bad is happening there.
On the other hand, anyone with magic capabilities or any close sense of nature or what not (It's up to you to decide whether you can sense it/ how you sense it) can magically sense that there's an evil presence in the blackened section of earth on the map.
The lack of trees and the dead soil, the still air, how not a single animal or insect lives there means that it's defiled. Anyone could see that.

Elfies
The situation with the elves can go both ways. On the one hand, they are no longer competition and they don't know who we are. On the other if they do report us, they could make trouble. If there is an opportunity to stop them...

Elvish problems
A few thoughts on the last post.
Do the elves know who we are if they wanted to tell the Templars? Since they spoke to us when we were all commandeered, they have at least some familiarity. Plus, with an Orc, a huge Mul, a Thri-Kreen and a drow, I doubt we would be hard to identify. So don't count on secrecy.
What would you do even if we did stop them? We fought to save them, would you now kill them? Hold them prisoner? threaten them? Other than talking to them to convince them that Morrigu is trustworthy (And who amongst US believes that, let alone convincing a group of ELVES to trust a drow!)what else could we do anyway?
Would the elves want to join us in going on? I doubt it. What DM gives his players extra NPCs? What elf joins with a drow? So is there anything to gain by chasing them? The injured one might join us - with his friends gone he would have to make his way back on his own, which seems a very risky proposition. Especially since he is injured already.
I suspect we are stuck just going forward and we will deal with the elves and Templars when we return. There may not even be a problem. We did, after all, save their lives.

Nomad, those questions are pretty much exactly why helping them in the first place was an iffy thing. What gain could come of it. Now, we saved a group that could cost us our lives.

Questions oh question
Yea those questions would've been good to ask,
though being a "good party", I'll try to work in a reward at least for doing the tough thing, I know it would've been much easier for you guys to say
"eh leave em to die" so because you guys helped them out, Some bad things may happen but some good things will definitely happen
Sound fair?
As well, apologies for the late monday post but my school starts today! Second year of uni
EDIT:
Again guys if there's anything you want me to improve on or anything you like and you're like "Yea give us more of that" please lemme know what I can do to improve. I'd like to make the game as enjoyable as possible for all of us

well
rewarding the 'tough choices' or risk / reward is what makes games memorable
I'm all for rp penalties due to actions having consequences for our actions, but rewards and such are always nice too. (dont wanna penalize being 'good' in a 'good' campaign too often to early or adventurers may just say forget it and return to menial lives lol

Keep it up
I think that encounter went really well. The party did a bit of talk, then some took action on their own. But the rest of us supported them and in the end the characters are probably a bit more cohesive. Even learned a few secrets about Morrigu.

A+
It's all going well, I think. Had encounter, all reacted in character to come together in the end. Now we deal with the aftermath and revelations. Keep it coming!

sorry
I know I have been rather lax in my posting, I'm going through some pretty serious personal matters, and my PC may or may not be running hot again, and so I've been using it less and less to prevent frying another processor as I don't have a backup anymore. I will try to be more active with my posts in the future.

RP and rewards
While I am all for my characters getting rewards and becoming uber-powerful, that is not needed. Coming back and getting killed for using magic would be a bummer, but learning to live in the environment is part of the game - just make it reasonable and we will have fun with it. It is all good so far.

Game Plan
And comments on the game itself
I would assume we will take a bit of time to rest, clean off the zombie gunk and let the elf wake up. Then we talk to him and see what he says - where'd the zombies come from, for example. What made his fellows go zombie? Did they make any attacks that worked on the zombies? What does he want to do? Morrigu probably shouldn't be prominent in the questioning. After that we probably move on towards the ruins. I might suggest a nights rest before moving on if we have enough food. That would heal our wounds and renew spells.
If we Post general actions and questions we might ask together we might be able to go through all of that in one weeks postings. Otherwise it might take a few to talk to the elf. It probably depends on how talkative he is. I'm more than willing to take the time if he'll talk, but don't want to slow things down overmuch if nothing will be forthcoming anyway.

hey all
sorry about the late post, I was keeping an eye on the top 5 posts and I didn't realized you guys updated this
Concerning the late post shield, no worries, RL gets in the way and I understand, You don't need to apologize or feel compelled to post when you're busy!
Awesome, thanks for the feedback guys I'm thinking I"ll try to stay away from combat and put more social encounters and exploration though!
Concerning the thing Nomad just said, That sounds good, I mean I can update more than once a week if we want it in the main forum, If someone asks a question, I can just answer that individual question if you guys would like or you can ask questions in the Q&A forum and i'll answer it in the Q&A forum and at the end of the week, I can post a summary of the characters reaction?
Lemme know what you guys want!
