sall good

Again no worries as long as the game doesn't go dead As long as you're messaging in the Q&A forums when we ask questions I don't mind at all if it takes you longer to pump out a post.

Concerning the bandits, is there something to mark them or identify them so that we can cash in the reward and not have another person claim it before us/ claim that they killed the bandits

identifying items...

Yes, each bandit sported a crimson band or sash. The lackies out front had armbands while the three in the second wave wore larger sashes on their waists to indicate a higher rank.

With the 2 that fled for their lives you would have 5 armbands and 2 sashes, though slightly singed from all the fire bombs, these will be turned in with the Captain of the Guard to collect your bounty pay.

losing steam?

I understand that life takes priority as well as anyone else, so I am not rushing anyone to post or prioritize the game. I am just curious as to if we are fizzling out now or if everyone wants to keep going.

No fizzle

I'm in.

Losing Zick would stink. The others are all still here, I believe. I missed the last update again - but I'm onluy behind a few days, so I'll get something up.

Plans folks?

The most notable things to me are the masterwork battleaxes and the hand axes and heavy crossbow that were described as "well crafted." That might mean "masterwork" although he didn't use that language. At any rate, they would have some value. Beyond that - what? The dress and probably bladed weapons until we are overloaded.

What with the rest? I'd say haul it into the inner room and lock it. Maybe even into the cabinet and lock it. We could potentially come back with a cart. Or we just abandon it.

A final split of the potions is needed as well.

And once back in town? Do we just sell the dress? See if anyone is missing it? Offer the letters to the guard that will be paying us? Take the letters somewhere else for translation? Consider going and hunting the beast that was the other job - although the letters may end up leading us elsewhere.

Keep on GOING!

Definitely not fizzling. We may have lost one but there are still three of us. I really want to keep exploring Iara. Might be a little slow, but I'm here.

As to next steps, I say we take with us anything of value we can carry. Dress, masterwork weapons, etc. I don't think we'll be able to come back and nab the rest of the loot - so we should make things really difficult with what we leave behind.

In terms of the letters and the dress. Iara is not the most law abiding honest person, so returning any of this to the proper owner is not a concern. Using the dress as a tool for more information would be something she'd do. As to the letters, I think we should keep them until we know what they say. We can buy a scroll of comprehend languages and have Iara use it to read the letters. We should transcribe them if we decide to turn them in.

Let's see what happens with the letters and getting pay from the guards before going monster hunting.

My brain is too fried to post now, but I will this weekend. More soon.

The Ring

Ring of the Grasping Grave.

Aura faint necromancy; CL 1st
Slot ring
Price 2,000 gp;

The wearer of this ring can make a melee touch attack against an undead creature no more than one size category larger than himself, cutting off that creature from undying energy. The wearer never suffers any ill effects that might normally occur from coming into physical contact with an undead creature touched in this way. On a successful hit, the undead cannot be healed or aided by the effects of negative energy for 1d4 rounds. During this duration, positive energy affects the undead creature normally.

..

Great, we definitely shouldn't be forgetting those bands then!

Savis won't be exactly itching to return stuff to their rightful owner unless he's emotionally invested in it somehow. (I.e. wedding ring or something personal)

Concerning the loot, He's be down to safeguard it or something. Locking it also seems like a good idea, although locks can be broken into...

Although what are the chances of someone finding this place right?

loot

I don't sweat weight in my games (unless I state as such at the beginning) so the weight of the loot isn't going to pose any issue. However, the bulky items like the crates will pose an issue without the aid of a cart or wagon.

loot and weight

So then does that mean a bag of holding has an essentially limitless capacity? Just curious how this all works. Obviously if something is too big to even fit in the bag it won't work, but if we aren't looking at weight then a bag of holding would have serious capacity. Iara has a minor bag of holding, so just curious how this all would work.

Can we can an inventory so we can divy up? I say we try and sell anything we're not going to use. Would like to keep the letters and decipher.

Would we be able to purchase wands and scrolls in the city? Considering it's a big city with a magic district and all.

Shall we just head back to town and take it from there?

Cold Steel

So, is cold steel something that hurts fairies specifically?

If so, are those knives something would want to destroy? Take them to the city to destroy? Or bury in the middle of the woods so nobody else can find them or use them?

Gotta reread the ring stuff - did you have to touch someone with it? If so, Savis is the only one likely to get close to anyone. We hope. But if it can destroy undead from a distance it would be a good prize for Birdman as he didn't get anything previously. Also, we still need to divvy up the potions.

As for bags of holding, I would guess it means "be reasonable."

Making my return

Hey everyone sorry for the absence. Between moving, paying off debt, attempting to figure out how paying back student loans works, and starting a second job, you can say I've been busy. I have some days off coming up I'll catch up on all the posts and chime in if I have any ideas to add to what the party is planning.

Can't wait to get Mattias interacting with everyone again!

some answers

Cold Iron overcomes the DR of Fey creatures, and a few other types of creatures as well I believe.

The Ring is touch range, and does not actually damage the undead creature touched, simply prevents them from being healed by negative energy. It was random loot, as such probably best to be sold for cash.

While I generally ignore weight, I would have to say the capacity limits of the various Bags of Holding (and Haversack) should be adhered to. So a Minor Bag of Holding will hold up to 6 cubic feet. If I were to just allow limitless space within the bag it would pretty much make the more expensive bags obsolete. That said I'm not going to expect a strict breakdown of what you have in the bag and the measurements thereof.. so like Nomad said, be reasonable.

Wands ans Scrolls can be purchased in the city, and as residents of this city you would easily know where such goods can be obtained.
