(In Legion's artificial monotonous voice) Ho ho ho are there good little flesh creatures here?

I was going to call it Hoartide (as in Yuletide), until I realized how *ahem* iffy that sounds out loud lol.

Bandits
In general I am inclined to avoid the bandits and move on. As much as they deserve smacking it isn't our mission. However, I am curious about "him." But again, even that element isn't actually the mission we were hired to do, even if it is related. I suspect Legion will want to follow the exact mission, but what say you?

Regarding Erundak...
Guys, I don't think I've really fleshed out Erundak much so far, except that he's the son of Sithrandor, chief of the lizardfolk.
You guys could use a mage in the party, so I was thinking about making him one. Maybe a ranger? Or cleric? Or what other class has both healing and offensive magic?

Class
Make him whatever you want him to be.
But . . . while we don't have a mage and that would be a perfect fit for the party, mages are really powerful by level 8. Not in an unbalanced game way, but their spells will often determine what the group can and can not do. They throw fireballs around. A mage's abilities often set the tone for things - do you want to do that with an non-player character?
A ranger would be a good fit for how you have played him so far. He would be mostly a fighter - an easy class to play without pushing the decision making on the party but also able to cast limited healing spells. A cleric is similar but would have better spell selection. By providing healing both would be a good fit.
When looking at the options above - you probably don't want us deciding what spells the lizardman would cast besides maybe asking for a heal. So how many decisions do you want to have to make? Just saying he attacks with his bow or sword is simple and doesn't require you to make tactical decisions.

@Nomad
I think I'll make him a Ranger. At least then, he'll have ranged attacks (bow & arrow), melee (sword) and healing (spells). You're right, this would fit him, especially considering he lives in the woods, a Ranger-y environment.

Are you two going to post in the roleplay thread or are you waiting for my DM post?

I will post in the game thread but want to hear from Legion about what he wants to do. Didn't think I should take action until then.

Options
To Legion:
I don't see any reason at all to launch an attack before the second caravan leaves. They don't have the item and simply add to the foes. Personally, I see two options:
1. Attack after the first group leaves. That sword seems really valuable and like something we don't want them to have. Of course, that isn't the quest either.
2. Don't attack. Even better, if they are headed to the fortress we now have an unwitting guide to take us to where we want to go. Just follow quietly along.
As much as I would like to get that sword, I think it probably makes the most sense to follow them. My one argument against that really is that given the spooky nature of this meadow it would be fun to try and spook some orcs. I suppose we could do that even if we do just follow them. Thoughts?

Names
What do you guys think of the name The Golden Order for the surface elf Dragon Riders? If you can think of a name yourself, please post it.
And what about Chromatic Claw for the drow Dragon Riders?

I mean Legion is focused on the given task but if you wanna mess with them I'll be tagging along lmao
Those names sound fine to me
Edit: Wasn't that the same war Legion was originally built for? In that case the talk about taking the sword from the Golden Order would probably catch his interest.

Orders
The names are fine.
That is what I expected from Legion, however I really do hope that you as a player voice more of an opinion. I get that Legion follows his orders but if that becomes a straight path with little room for variation it puts all the choices on Azax. I don't mind making the some decisions but it really should be a joint effort.
As for the orcs - I gues I'd suggest that we follow them not fight them. Agreed?
Also, if this is about that original war and you would have been on the side of the Golden Order, would he have any residual orders or thoughts based on that? After all, there is aparently a sword from the order here and a wounded dragon rider out there somewhere.

Do I have to post another DM post saying the first cadavan set off for the mountain stronghold? Or shall we just pretend it has just to speed things up?
