Willow specializes in non verbal communication
...so unless those comm units include pictures, no dice
Dash will get his steaks when we can afford 'em, just won't be Willow buying them...she's vegetarian like any good buddhist, but Kora was shopping too.
On a serious note, work has been hectic and I am brutally tired this week, Hope to post tomorrow so the Big Guy can move things forward on the week-end.
Sorry!

Ghost in the machine...
I guess I kind of figured that Sam tried to avoid too much communicatin'... "seein as how broadcastin ones whereabout always tends ta draw the wrong set of eyes in a fella's direction, get me?"... and just didn't think to pick up a personal comm. *shrugs* I reckon I figgered ta be sittin' onna boat...
No worries about the steaks, either, Miss Wil... Sam's more'n excited about gettin' ta lassoo that comet than he is about gettin' red meat... Long as you ladies shin back from the market with somethin' Trish can make taste like Ta sieu bao, ol' Dash'll be right contentified... ya'll...

Minor Emergency at work
has me until Monday...
Can I write this about Asher quick... and leave it to you, Al to work it out. I don't want to be the guy that holds up the team.
======================================================
Asher followed Beth to the room behind the coat check. The girl definitely drew him in.She reminded the lad of home... and simplier times... better times.
The thoughts of home, even in the midst of his lust, brought to mind his mother and Abby, his sister... and Ruth-Ann, his sweetheart from long ago... all ripped away... away...
The hardened, jaded, and lustful parts of Asher told him, Those times have past... ain't no room fer a gentle folks no more. Best get what y'can when y'can.
But there was another voice too... the one remindin' him of when people were decent folks... honorable and such.
Beth closed the door to the back room -- four walls and a bed. Asher closed his eyes and kissed the girl in front of him -- the girl of this moment. He knew she was more than ready to lay with him... and there was no denyin' his body was tellin' him it was more than ready.
But something stop caused him to pause... if only for a moment.
"Miss Beth," He said softly. "There ain't no denyin' I'd love t' bed ya right now." He kissed her again. "But I want t' do ya right. Not just like a stallion with some mare... but gentleman like." Another kiss. "So, I got t' ask ya.. are you free t' leave here fer a bit? 'Cause I'd love t' take ya away from here... if only fer a bit."
OOC: If Beth agrees, than I would say that the two of them leave the bar prior to Sam/Sung... Find a place to eat and then he'll take her to a decent hotel. If not... then Asher will go back to the bar quick and get the nicest bottle of alcohol, two glasses and head back to Beth.
OOC2: Sorry I posted this here... I wasn't planning on actually writing out the post. Anyway... be back Monday. Thanks!

I hope to post to VOR tonight. So if you could get your post up before then Lyskhala, I would appreciate it. Otherwise I NPC you, which often leads to nudity and wild behaviour.

Hey!
Hey there, Browncoats! How's everything going?
Me, I just recently watched the final episode of Firefly and read through Those Left Behind, the comic book that takes place between the TV series and the movie. I also just bought Finding Serenity, the collection of essays on the topic of Firefly that was published after the show got cancelled, so I guess you could say I'm pretty pumped up for space westerns and everything that goes with them.
I'll have to be honest and admit that I haven't followed your campaign's storyline. I have noticed, however, that you've put together an awful lot of elaborate backstory and written equally ambitious posts to go along with it. What I'm really wondering about, though, is your current status: How's the game coming along?
From what I can tell, you're dealing with roughly one post per day at the moment (with lots more going on in the Q&A thread, not surprisingly) and the crew currently consists of five people. Would there be room for one more character, and would the pace be looking to speed up in the near future? I reckon you know that I've asked about joining before and passed up the opportunity because I seem unable to stay focused on a game unless it has a payoff associated with pressing the Refresh button every other minute—but there's no harm in asking, after all, and I don't think I'm likely to find a more promising Firefly campaign this side of the Internet anytime soon. If I can't join, then that's that—no big deal. Either way, I'm wishing you all the best of luck out there in the frontier, Browncoats!

Too late for love
The game is going along well Scarab. It isn't moving at the pace you'd find interesting, but for those of us wrapped up in our own lives, it is moving just fine, thanks.
I can't see the pace increasing any time soon. As to new members, I'd have to say no. I gave you first crack at this Scarab and you turned me down on the basis that once a week wasn't fast enough.
You are welcome to follow along and if the crew outvotes, then I'd let another in.

My 2 cents...
I would agree with you, Al... I don't see this game picking up a faster pace. My life is pretty hectic and I got few other games on the go with a similar pace.
I, personally, like the pace. I find you are consistent in your updates as are the rest of the players. And that's what I'm looking for... regular, dependable updates that keep moving the story forward.
I am also enjoying the creativity and story-feel that is going into each of the posts. They seem, to me, to be well written and a pleasure to read.
Two thumbs up here! Keep up the great work!

my love affair with the shovel
We have been hit with about 5 inches of snow and have another 5 to 10 coming. So, believe it or not my post has been delayed due to snow. However, once I do get to work, things will probably be dead, so I might have time today.
Yes, in Canada we go to work in snow storms. There could be three feet of snow and we will all slowly drive through whiteout conditions to get to work. However, in the summer when it is sunny and hot - we call in sick and take time off.
