awesome
I won't be on tomorrow until the evening - unless I hop on my phone for a bit - as I'm taking my son skydiving for his 18th birthday, and I have to drive out of state to do so.
But we'll get that meeting going.

no real issue just a pondering
i was thinking that the job scheduling would be like rotational shift work?? so you'd have day/afternoon/night shifts with so many on an a day or two (24-48hrs ect off cause theirs no real day or night on ship) to adjust your sleep cycle for the next shifts?
so if Karri was coming off an afternoon shift she'd have a night shift for her next allotment depending on scheduling from the chief engineering?

duty shifts?
lol
Oh, my. Yes, we - i.e. the super duper, way too deep Trek nerds - have actually worked this out.
All personnel work five eight hour shifts per week, save The Captain, Executive Officer, and Second Officer - who each work six. We have it worked out which people stand watches on the bridge at each station, Sunday through Saturday (if you care, it's currently a Sunday in our game).
If you like, I'll put this in a web friendly form per character, and post this to the QA.

The Garden
I use "the garden" to reference Horatio's dedicated botanical lab. He would have referred to it as this dozens upon dozens of times now, so I like to think it would be "known" as that.
If that's an issue, I can edit it to the botanical labs.

Regarding pod findings
Also, I wanted to make sure no one thinks I'm stepping on their toes with the report from the cargo bay. Thorson is reporting merely on the engineering-related aspects. If Science, Tactical, etc. wants to join in and report other findings at the handoff I left, feel free. Everyone's working from outside the ship's containment field at this point, so if we want to say that anyone else from other departments is also in the cargo bay observing and conducting tests and scans, that's imminently doable.

Wouldn't you like to know where John will be taking Karri?
But I'd guess after we get to Star Base 118 all bets are off.
Eol edit: Sorry... couldn't help myself.

we'll soon be getting back to the main story... i hear the chief engineer is throwing wrenches...that's Karri's stick haha JK
but some question. would a chief officer be able to call an off duty officer back to duty if they needed help?

Just poking fun, Astrid! All in good humor.
Yes, if you're off-duty and the CEO needs you back on post, you drop what you're doing and beat feet to Engineering (or wherever you're needed).

yes
The thing to remember is while we may have regular duty shifts, the fact is that everyone's very survival may rest on someone being able to do their job. So in red alert situations... congrats, you are on duty now. If your department head needs you, you are on duty now.

Yup
Yeah Astrid, didn't want to step on your interlude, but things are reaching a point in the cargo bay that Thorson is likely to call for all hands on deck soon. Trying to progress it logically; once Thorson has an idea of how to proceed, then it'll be time to get help with the proceeding.
But feel free to continue your extracurricular activities. I'll make sure Thorson calls when things are at their most intimate. Hehehehe.
