possibilities

Exactly I'm just wonderig how complicit they are in the overthrowing of the keep. Probably very little considering they wanted the map but perhaps they were trying to throw us off track. I don't know but its suspicious that they know... unless the Lords of Waterdeep released the information in hopes of our downfall. That also seems suspect considering they would then have to clear the keep of the bandits anyways. I don't know but I don't think that it's random that they asked for the map.

not too late

We still have him. All I've done is taken his hand from the sword hilt to make sure he doesn't use it to attack us. If you guys feel like questioning, kill off the cleric. Or we can keep both and compare their stories. Cause you have a good point, he probably won't go against Bane.

In all fairness -- a few thoughts ...

The points brought up in the recent posts are all valid, but are only a certainty if what information you are using is known as fact, instead of the assumptions they are. For example:

There has not been enough interaction with the cleric to be able to truly label him a religious fanatic or zealot. Therefore you know not how he will truly act or react unitl you interact with him further.

It may, indeed, be possible for others to be working with this group, but that is not a certainty, either, and without that knowledge, assuming later or further action by others is only "borrowing trouble", and could lead to actions based on something that may not actually occur.

What I am trying ot say is that the chances of something good or bad happening are absolutely equal, until or unless you have more information to work with. Not attempt to obtain information when the opportunity presents itself guarantees the lack of information when it could be useful.

While any (or some, or all) information gathered may, of course, be bogus, it could also be valuable ...

The "mission" will still go on of what you attempt, what you look for, what you find, or what you do. You can move on and assume that this is just a random, albeit coincidental, chance meeting. But there is only one way to determing whether or not this encounter is related to your quest ...

interrogation?

I definitely think its important to question and further examine what's going on here, whether we do that through the cleric or through the half-elf doesn't matter to me, I kind of agree with Bez in that, the more people we have to question, the more accurate our information is perhaps we should tie them up. Also we should decide on questions and someone who should ask them, preferably someone with high charisma... wait, is that me?... just kidding, I don't think that's a job for Jethro necessarily, unless others elect him, he most likely won't elect himself unless the questions would benefit him specifically. We should also decide on tactics - intimidation, diplomacy, sense motive (if someone has this or even high wisdom it would be VERY helpful), what do you guys think?

Me charge...

I am going to try and pin this guy against a tree... I believe we're close enough for that to be a possibility right Wyrmstring? And that is my action for round four, the swing would be round five, unless someone stops me. I will edit my post if necessary.

hmmm, okay

I hae one more short post to end round three. I'll hold off posting for round four (and bhe Bbn's charge) until I see if there is any reaction to it from the others.

KoD: Good suggestions, all, but short of anyone volunteering or being chosen, Jethro could always ask some of the others (qauietly) ...

gboy: Rounds four/five are already written, but I'll wait for a reaction, if any. And please, PLEASE, if you are going to use my full username, it is WyrmstIng, not WyrmstRIng ...

Or you can just call me Wyrm, Wyrmy, or Goober ...

Whoops. My bad.

Sorry. I'll call you goober from now on. It's easier to remember.

Well, by "from now on", I probably means for a week or so. Then it'll probably be Wyrm.

Thanks for the heads up though.

Don't

Don't try to kill him. I say we just do something to subdue him.

Okay, a question from me, this time

gboy, you are the second person to mention that Kannizan let the half-elf go. I still don't see anything resembling that in his post(s). I have missed things before, did I miss something again?

Since bearspaw can see that Kannizan is obviously in no danger, and neither is anyone else (at the moment), why would Bearspaw continue to rage when he can conserve the energy he knows he is burning ...

Or is all this just IC ranting from Bearspaw?

Either way is fine. Just asking now F.M.O.I, so I don't have to ask later and look even more stupid ...

Kinda looks like that is what happened.

Don't sweat it. Given the mindset of the "guilty" parties, stuff like that happens.

Welcome to the world of the chaotic neutral. Will send the described info to you tomorrow ...

whew

Okay, we're past that encounter, but yet we still know absolutely nothing about why they attacked us, how they knew about the map, how they knew we were the ones with it, and all that good stuff.

We've got some work to do.

Okay, Goober.

Some answers here for you.

1. Perception is a BIG THING in IC relations. I know that Bezmir had no intention of letting the guy go without consulting the party. Almyrikon, however, was in bloodlust.

2. I don't like the idea you can just, end a rage at any given point. I see it as you go until you're too tired to keep raging.

3. You said it yourself. Welcome to Chaotic Neutral.
