P.S. Same goes for the bit about Mami Fortuna... I think Nimu and I discussed that Alex and the old seeress had a "passing acquaintance" as mentioned in the post but I could be mistaken.

I've got some questions about Alice too. With Penelope's supernatural senses she should be able to sense Alice's presence if she's within 30 ft of her. She won't know where she is, but she'll definitely feel her presence. How close is Alice to everyone?

On the Mami Fortuna note all is good, we definitely had discussed Alex meeting with some folks in Pilsen. Jut keep in mind that she barely speaks any english (as far as skills I believe she's level one).

Meri - Janelle's just sleeping peacefully right now

Eol - It's only the ones in proximity, and that proximity is about 20~30ft, so yeah, only Alex's watch and the front door right now

Nimu - If she's at the front door as I presume, she definitely can feel Alice

You, too, Nimu... I alluded to the fact that Mami Fortuna and Alex didn't really communicate well in their previous meeting(s), I think. (Alex only has your average cop's skills in Spanish and Mami has her 1 level in Speak English, so I'm sure that not all of whatever may have been said between the two of them was wildly misinterpreted on either side of those conversations... )

Well here is the kitty's reaction.

I figure that when Alex lets her out she will go down the street and try to get a better look at Alice. I'm assuming Alice was still walking down the street when Smoke catches sight of her and thus doesn't get a good look. She'll want to have more confirmation before doing anything.

Rer - feel free to work Smoke's following into a post with Alice's moves, and as noted before Smoke rarely hides what she is to people who are receptive to it, and this is no exception.

Alex ain't about to let poor, defenseless, li'l kitty out into the big bad world to get all squishified by creepy demon girl! Huh-uh!!!

That is an interesting note... I'm not sure that she has fully let Alex in on what she can do with all that death mastery stuff. I doubt he's had occassion to see her use it. She's used the shield and maybe some of the lesser death mastery stuff, but mostly I'd guess she just uses her normal basty abilities...
But... yeah... she isn't exactly defenseless and he might know that

...that Smoke is pretty open with him about the fact that she considers herself "Alex's guardian," myself. True, he's probably not seen half of what she can do but I'd imagine that he trusts her when she tells him that she can handle herself, etc...

Anyway, all of that aside, Alex will surely be hesitant about letting her out, regardless... He'll do it, of course, but... *sigh*...I'm afraid he won't be able to let her go alone... And that little girl really creeps me out, too...
