Welcome back Hammer

Hope your vacation was fun - good to have you back and active in the adventure. Now we don't get to feed you to a hangman tree while you are gone!

I came to a fork in the road

Now we are presented with a problem. The loggers are split into three groups, there are shapes moving about in the smoke, and this smoke is just terrible for my fine elven hair.

I don't have a spell to deal with the smoke because a nice gust spell is out of my range at the moment.

I'll follow the leader, but I strongly suggest that we don't split up. I think that is a recipe for disaster for our party and the loggers. Perhaps determining if those shapes in the smoke are friendly or hostile might be in order. If they are friendly we can gatehr everyone back togehter. If they are hostile, we can get a glimpse at what is before us and if this smoke is just a diversion to divide and conquer our group.

Arrow is nocked and ready to fly at the first sign of trouble though.

I doubt..

the shapes in the smoke are friendly. I wouldn't mind encircling the wagons because I think we might get attacked. I will be ready for what ever everyone wants to do.

Circling the wagons?

Well, I certainly agree that we do not want to split up! I am surprised that Carus would do that. Now that we are here we seem to have 4 options:

1. Sit here and wait while watching the woods
2. Go down the path to the bridge
3. GO down the path towards the camp following Carus
4. Stay here and try to find out who is out in the woods

I really have no idea what to do - except not split up. It seems very likely to me that someone is going to be attacked if they haven't already been. But which group - or all of them? The camp seems the most likely target.

What exactly is the path here- a Y in the road? We came down one - and two forks leading away - one towards the bridge and one towards the camp? Or is the camp off of the road? SD - can you clarify? Also, were the shapes in the woods visible before Carus left, or only after?

I'm half inclined to stay put where we might be able to go either way if we hear anything. Either that or head to the camp. Additional feedback is needed.

Hammer agrees ...

..... to NOT Split Up!

I would think we have somewhat of an obligation to Protect the Wagons!

My gut says go to the bridge and my better reasoning says to wait for news from the Camp!

Supplies in the wagons are of paramount importance to the people in camp and we can fan out to defend against any attacks from the figures we have seen!

What is Rat inclined to do?

I just suspect that the Main Problem has its origin on the other side of the bridge!

Keeping together and proiecting the wagons

makes sense to Rat. We should make sure to not get lost, and with 10 (the wagon 5) we have more power in numbers. HOWEVER, let's warily approach the wagons and the friendly voices, just in case they aren't "taken over". (We don't have these silver weapons and stuff for nothing.)

Rat says lets approach the wagon and "wait" with hopeful friendlies.

Hang with the wagons

Well, we all seem to agree not to split up, that seems obvious.

I think the consensus otherwise is to stay with the wagons. I'll wait a little while to see if anyone else has another opinion - then post. We can also quickly change our minds if discussion changes this.

I also think people will want to note where around the wagons they are. There are 2 wagons, is that correct? In a line? Might some of you want to climb on top of a wagon? Would being in the wagon make a spell-caster harder to reach - or easier to hit with missile weapons? But in this smoke missiles might not be the best weapon. Anvil will be staying on the ground with sword drawn. Each can post their own for positioning, unless you post before I do the "group post."
